Temps are in the 30's at night in Ellensburg but his car was found further away. The initial reports linked stated his car was found in the Snoqualmie Wildlife area. If this map is current that's quite a ways from Ellensburg. Snoqualamie wildlife area - Google Search

This more recent article states the car was found in the remote Colockum area, northeast of Ellensburg.
Search Ongoing for Missing 88-Year-Old in Colockum Area. That is closer to Ellensburg and likely a more accurate location for his vehicle.
I do hope he has found shelter somewhere.

There is no cell service out there at all, sometimes for an hour+ of driving.
I'm guessing he didn't have a cell phone. My Dad refused to use one or carry one for emergencies (I even got him one of those super easy to use ones with huge keypad numbers to make it easy to see and dial).

The Colockum extends into the southern reach of Chelan County. Trained search teams from Chelan, Pierce, Yakima, Snohomish, and King counties and the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department scouted the land over the weekend with drones, dogs, and off-road vehicless.

Charlie’s family has been on the scene since his disappearance was reported and is actively involved in the search efforts, working closely with the rescue teams as they comb the area for any signs of him. The search zone, which spans across difficult and mountainous terrain, is vast and presents numerous challenges for those involved.

I wonder if Charlie visited the area previously, or when he was young. My grandmother is the same age with dementia and couldn't tell you her name, the year, or what state she lives in, but she can rattle off her addresses and neighbors' first and last names from 75 years ago no problem.
