JM also illustrated what seems to be one of Jodi's pet stories...that something happened and she "lost consciousness". Supposedly someone in her family pushed her, she "lost consciousness", same thing she claims with Travis and I think in one other incident.

OMG your post just prompted a memory from the time while JA was testifyingt hat when TA choked her and she lost consciousness, the first thing that came to her mind after she came to was WHERE'S NAPOLEON? Are you freaking kidding me???? psycho :furious: Does she not realize just how stupid her made up stories sound to sane people?

The "gloves" keeping going around in my mind. JA first stated to DM while she was describing the Ninja's that they were wearing "gloves". On another interview while DM was asking her to please tell the truth, while she is telling DM that she would have had to shoot TA as not to kill him in a humane way, she also says ‘But I would have to wear gloves. For whatever reason, this is a sticking point for me. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think she did indeed start off wearing gloves and one came off in the melee. I agree. Her comment along the line of "I have lots of gloves" was weird. But, then, just about everything JA says is a bit on the nutty side... :twocents:

I'm not sure who you are talking as DM, but Detective Esteban (Steve) Flores is the one who interrogated her when she first spoke of the ninjas.

Why not be specific? To which post are we referring?

I'm sorry Sleuth5 but I can't find it. Maybe Sunny can help out. It was posted this morning, I tried to go back but to no avail.

Because she was wearing gloves but took them off when she cut her own fingers? That may have been when Travis was able to crawl his way to the hallway and almost into the bedroom. Jodi may have sliced her hand, getting her pinky and ring finger of her left hand, when she was stabbing Travis repeatedly. The knife may have sliced through the glove and she realized she was bleeding so she stopped to take off her glove to look at her own wound. She realized that Travis was not dead, was crawling to the bedroom, went after him, slipped in the blood on the floor and put her hand out onto the wall to catch herself.......leaving the bloody handprint that was her blood mixed with his.

I don’t believe this defense is going to work for JA but it did for Mary Winkler…..
I’m seeing more than a few similarities between JA’s defense and that of Mary Winkler. She claimed PTSD and physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse from her pastor husband. She does not remember or acknowledge pulling the trigger of the gun that shot her husband in the back while he was sleeping but wiped the blood from his mouth and then unplugged the phone and left him to die…….

She received a sentence of voluntary manslaughter and only served a few months receiving mental health counseling and now has custody of her three daughters.

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but regarding Ryan Burns, do you think the thought has EVER crossed his mind that "OMG that could have been me" in regards to Travis's brutal slaying/murder? Sorry just can't keep up on the days when we have court, just seems easier to get opinions on weekends.

No worries, Farm! Just curious. Kinda goes without saying with all of us, I guess. LOL

I know, just corrected it. It's been a long day, thanks.

Lyrical as always, Tuba. For my part, the car rental and all things related to the trip itself are the most compelling, though the gun is certainly alluring. Nobody goes to a different town to rent a car -- just too many "coincidentally" premeditated actions involved in that trip. :cow:

If one lives in a small town where there either aren't rental cars available or the choice and cost is limited, yes, they would go into another town/city to rent the car.

However, what is wrong with this scenario, is that she is going on an extended "road trip" with no job or finances, her bank account(s) almost depleted, and owing Travis two payments for a car she made inoperable.

Dateline. Along came Jodi. I had not seen these. Interesting way to pass the time, until tomorrow.

These are posted in the Media thread as well.

Wish I could look at these, but my son would have a fit. He said I would use up "something or other". We have satellite here in the sticks of NY state and they have slowed our computer to a crawl many times. very frustrating- and we have the max "something or other". You can probably tell how computer savvy I am-LOL. :blushing:

I understand that everyone should have a lawyer, but I just don't understand how a person can defend another person if they think they are guilty. It seems so wrong to me and makes me sad and mad. Please tell me what's to defend if they are guilty??????:banghead:

many many crimes are pled out! So many don't make the news because a Defense Attorney has explained to his client the likelihood they will get off since they left their drivers license at the scene, or when they ran over their ex-wife, the license plate numbers embedded in her thigh. Things hard to explain to a jury. So they negotiate with the Prosecutor.

Then other times the person insists they did not do it! Even though I am on video doing it! :) In those cases the Attorney has to go forward with what the client wants even though he might be telling the client, we are about to get our butts kicked?

Public Defenders are given cases to defend. Private defense attorney's can pick and choose the cases they want. That can be lucrative as the defendant accused must put up a retainer and that can be anywhere from $25,000 to $200,000 to $500,000 (in some high profile or celebrity cases, or big CEO that killed someone cases)

I "think" the Public Defender can't refuse to take a case that he is given. He would have to provide compelling reason of maybe conflict. Someone correct me, but aren't those cases assigned to the Public Defender?

The "gloves" keeping going around in my mind. JA first stated to DF while she was describing the Ninja's that they were wearing "gloves". On another interview while DF was asking her to please tell the truth, while she is telling DF that she would have had to shoot TA as not to kill him in a humane way, she also says ‘But I would have to wear gloves. For whatever reason, this is a sticking point for me. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think she said this to DF because the day before she said if she were to kill travis she would wear gloves so naturally the next day her "ninja's" were wearing gloves and that why they didnt find any of their prints at TA's house only hers cuz she was a "witness" to the murder...I HATE THIS !@#$%!!

It was so painful to listen to JM (Opening statements) talk about how the attack began. He seems to think, like you, that Arias started stabbing Travis as he was down. I agree too. There is no other reason for her to order him (with the use of her weapons) to sit down in that tiny shower area.

Breaks my heart.

Yes, mine too. If you notice ALL the chest wounds are horizontal. Usually, homicidal stab wounds are vertical. All the chest wounds were inflicted from the side. Since the sitting position with arms in front did not give her access to the lower chest wound (the 3" one), it is more likely she stabbed him in the head and as he raised his arms to protect his head.

Strangely, the only wound described in the autopsy report as oblique (entering at an upward angle) is the deep one which penetrated the vena cava. That doesn't square with him being stabbed from above, which would produce a downward angle.

The other three chest wounds are all horizontal, not oblique.

This may be suggestive that there may have been a "you broke my heart now I'm breaking yours" wound delivered in the bedroom. This would account for the older blood in that area that remarked on by the ME.

Thoughts?

Well, I thought LaViolette could not have sunk any lower, but if this is true.....

It's been posted on the Justice 4 Travis page that when Alyce approached Samantha, she leaned over and said. "NOTHING PERSONAL".

really? How much more personal can you get than trashing a beloved and deceased brother??? I am speechless.

I really hope that is not true.
