I think the whole "illness" thing was an act. From what I could tell, she was pretending to be nauseous from the gagging expression she made. If someone is truly nauseous... it would be near impossible NOT to actually throw up. Also.. least in my experience, when Im feeling nauseous, the last think I want to do is drink anything... (ica was not hestitating in drinking water while she was "sick" ) I also didnt see the shakiness that usually accompanies nausea... her hand was steady when she was raising it up to her face, or holding her bottled water. Also, when youre really dry-heaving, your eyes tear up so much.. her face would have been visibly wet.
One thing that popped into my head was when she started lowering her head down.. I wondered if she wasnt trying to emulate Cindy's reaction while hearing the 911 call. Im sure ica has been made aware that Cindy illicited a lot of sympathy in the eyes of most all who watched her.
I could be totally wrong.. and just overly biased... but thats how I saw her "illness"

One other thing, wouldnt the DT have already shown ica these photos??

She never even looked at the pictures. If she had looked at even one of them I MIGHT buy it, but probably not. Plus, the testimony had gone on quite a while and the first visceral shock was over.

The pictures were included in discovery turned over to the defense a long time ago. I'm certain KC has already seen them, and more than once. She knows exactly what they look like, what they represent, and as far as I'm concerned, she's not fooling anyone. She was trying to deflect attention away from the photos, maybe in hopes of lessening the harsh effect she knew they would have on the jury. Sorry, KC...no takers. Get ready--court is in session in 3 hours, and I seriously doubt if Judge Perry will let you slither out of it today!

I found myself agreeing with many posts here, some with conflicting viewpoints so I'm not so sure but the extremely subjective notion I get is that she is starting to get scared she's not gonna get out of this and the impression of her character is that she's the sort of person who fakes something to get out of things, even if just for one more day. IMO some of her hand movements were reminders of duct tape. And because her natural response when in trouble is to lie, lie, lie, it's gotta be killing her to be sitting there quietly and not able to respond to the accusation by inventing lies, except through her attorneys. Maybe some real nausea thrown in by the reminders of the body but she was rather unconcerned about all the talk about the decomp smell. (But maybe it's because she never smelled any decomposition, it was just squirrels and garbage in her car.)

I don't believe it was a ploy by the defense team, at least not all of them, because I think the female attorney tasked with patting her back would have attempted to look a little bit more concerned if they were wanting to convince the jury that she was sick.

In the end, after a day when everybody cared only about Caylee, she had to make it about her.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I was so angry at her yesterday I wasn't ready to listen to anyone who said that she could be feeling some kind of fear for her own fate that manifested as nausea. After all she is SUCH a liar, about big things and small, that I can't fathom that any behavior she has in front of the cameras is real. I have come to naturally assume that whatever she says or implies through any form of communication, the opposite is probably true. It was an act, she wasn't successfully fake crying, so she faked some other thing that would look tangentially associated with grief.

However last night it started to resonate with me... one or two posts talking about her being forced to relive the murder and the results in front of people who are judging her (and 4 weeks ago, when she "broke down" hearing the consequence: her own death)... and the realization that people aren't there to look at her *advertiser censored* but to judge that she should die... and she's so self-absorbed, her own death is likely the only thing that would provoke real emotion from her. Probably nausea. Now that I'm no longer so angry as I was yesterday I can see how the nails hammering in her fate might actually make her ill.

I also agree with the above quoted post in that if the DT was in on it, they would have noticed her "I'm sick!" antics far sooner and made a better show of comforting her. JB was actually unhappy that she didn't rise for the jury. If he was in on it, I could see him being solicitous and comforting while casting apologetic looks at the jury or judge. JMO.

At the 545 mark looks like Ws's page on the laptop screen.. There is a laptop in front of the biger screen, u can just barley see the side of the laptop and Baez closes it.Are my eyes decieving me again? Are they viewing Ws's pages?

I think it's just the mac file view screen.

But you know what's interesting to me about that - this was the SAME computer monitor that the DT made a big tragic deal about turning away from the Inmate because she "just couldn't look at the pics of the crime scene" boo hoo --- and what was ACTUALLY on the laptop? Nothing. It wasn't even showing crime scene pictures. It was just the file view window that was up full screen.

Increase her meds and put her back in the courtroom. Giving into this behavior now is going to mean there will be more in the future. She is angry and she doesn't know how to control herself. It is a life-long problem and that is why she is on trial today.

These narcissist are all so similar. Their discomfort is huge and everyone has to know how uncomfortable they are. I had a guy that murdered five people in his family. What was his problem? He wanted to go to sick bay because he had a pimple starting near his hairline. Every little twitch or ache is a major event in their world.

:clap::clap: I couldn't agree with you more. Caseys sickness is her getting enraged when she cant have things her way. Like you said, sounds like this has been a life-long problem for Casey and that problem is one reason she is on trial today for killing her daughter. I whole heartily believe this. Not that it's fact, but my little bit of observation and opinion of her.

Good catch! I saw the same thing you did.

IMO

She is making facial grimaces throughout the video and she appears to wiping of sweat from her face and back of neck but does not appear to be sweaty. KC also appears like she is going to hurl. And yes JB put his hand on her to lead her to sit down at 5:14

This was all a ploy by the DT. They moved the computer away from the front of her face, not so she couldn't see the photos, but so that the jury could see her act better!

KC has already seen these photos and let's not forget the cellphone pings that showed that she had revisited the dumping site AFTER she had dumped the baby there. She might have seen the results of the animal activity and such in the early days of the dumping!

In addition, she might have been crying because she realized the defense idea of Roy Kronk hiding the body and then recently depositing it there is obviously impossible if you really look at those photos. The body had clearly been there for a long time.

She was sick because she sees Hell down this hallway and there is no turning back!

I think what some people might not be understanding is that, they didn't let her "escape" today. She got sick, she is a human being and is really supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, but shes been tried in the public eye for almost three years now and she is never going to be able to win. If she sat there like a bump on the log today we would hear how cold she is, and it like no one thinks shes not capable of getting sick or something, I really don't know. The chick drove around for who knows how long with her daughters dead body rotting in the back, that really is not the actions of a murderous mother with a long standing plan who couldnt get rid of the child fast enough. There is something mentally wrong with this person and I am having a hard time joining the lynch mob, I find all of this incredibly sad all the way around.

jmo

Those are also not the actions of someone who would "get sick" at the description of a skull under a log, IMO.

I agree that her body is completely capable of picking up a virus.

However I also don't think people here on WS should be called a lynch mob because they are skeptical of the words/actions of someone who is a pathological liar. We've heard 3 years of lies lies lies mixed with pretty much no truth at all, and so I think those of us who feel that she's still lying can be forgiven for our skepticism.

Also, I don't think her only two potential actions were to sit like a bump on a log OR have the dry heaves. What about tears, a facial expression of sadness, a look of grief? Btw, she was filmed laughing and smiling while the jury was out of the courtroom. I really don't think people who see all of that happening live on camera should be blamed for considering it one her thousands of shams or lies.

I think the jury noticed the hour she spent overtly miming nausea (real or fake, whatever) and the believe court was recessed for this real or fake illness. But I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't also wonder if this is what it would take for her to end the trial and plead.

I do not think DT had anything to do with this. The Skull and the ducktape and matted hair reminded her of the smell of decomposition that she is all too familiar with and made her gag and that made her sick.

I believe it was planned. Sorry if this has already been posted, but I can't keep up :loser: It seemed to me that she asked JB just before they started showing the skull pics "are these the ones?". Then, as she has been doing during each recess, she plays the role while eyes are on her. As soon as whomever is babysitting her at the moment looks or turns away from her, she starts talking to him/her to get the attention back on her, then back to acting.

so here it is 3:30am... can't sleep keep thinking of caylee...how does casey/baez sleep at night? anyway i heard someone who was in the courtroom (on vinnie's show?) say that casey looked liked she was being coached on how to act and that her 'illness' looked fake...i can believe that...

I didn't catch the trial yesterday, but have been viewing video clips of it. Casey's becoming ill seemed genuine to me. Whether she shows emotion or doesn't show emotion, either way, people are going to distrust her. I've felt that by the end of the trial, she possibly could have a breakdown.

You know its been bothering me and I do apologize if I'm posting on the wrong thread

My greatest impression of yesterday and Caseys reactions to the photos being shown was the usual back rubbing lack of 'support' from the lady on her right (sorry Im bad at names!)

It spoke volumes to me and the term 'rats leaving a sinking ship' springs to mind.

"That's all they care about right now, finding Caylee." Casey Anthony 7/16/2008

"Did you ask Ms. Anthony if she ever committed suicide?" Jose Baez 6/01/2011

"It started when two dead squirrels crawled up under the hood of the car" Lee Anthony

Even Casey's imaginary nanny thought Casey was an unfit mother!

Your signature is perfect. If gave me a good laugh. Do those people ever think before they speak? If I were Casey, I'd be very worried the jury may have the same idea as my imaginary nanny. BBM

Thanks for the laugh. If the case weren't so tragic, the Anthonys and Jose could have their own comedy show.

Just to remain strictly on topic, I've watched the "Casey Becomes Ill" video and I still think she faked most of it. Definitely she faked the "crying" during the morning session. She may have felt a bit uneasy in the afternoon, but it looked to me like someone who tries to fake illness to get out of responsibilities. I'm sure she has a lifetime history of doing just that.

While Mason and Baez appeared to be concerned as they watched the guards escort her away, I'm thinking they were just enjoying the performance. Sorry, Casey, I just can't muster any sympathy for you. It's about Caylee, not you.

I do believe her TEAM reminded her to show some "tears" today. "Wipe your eyes, wipe your face, wipe your nose, wipe your eyes...Try to look sad..." She only succeeded in looking fake.

If this was just a ploy, and I believe it was, how convenient the timing is. Trying to delay may let the DF rethink their line of counter strategy, but it will not change the facts of this case. KC is the one that did fatal harm to her daughter and nothing can change that. She is delaying the inevitable.
