I think she probably spent most of her time hanging out at home.

My sociopath father leeched off my mother until she issued an ultimatum (after about 15 years of sponging)--get a job or get out.

She left for work earlier than he left. He'd hang out at home until about an hour and a half before she was due to get home, then he'd bathe, get dressed in work clothes, and take off until shortly after she arrived home. After she was home and lubricated by a drink of two, he'd come home from his "long day at the office," and settle in for cocktails. On work days when she was at home, he dressed for "work" and parked himself in the library or someplace else for the day.

This went on for YEARS. I knew of it because I stayed in their house when visiting from out of town. (Yes, my silence was implicitly expected; yes I was an enabler. The dynamics are perplexing even to me, even from a distance of many, many years.)

I'm betting this was Casey's MO. Though I probably would have checked "all of the above" if it'd been an option.

I'm so sorry, this was your childhood you were not the enabler you were a victim.

My ex is also a sociopath, when he worked, it was during the day. I was home with the kids all day and went to work at 4 or 5 pm.

One nite when I got home at 10pm, my oldest (just turned 11) was standing in the hall holding her 1 yr old sister. Both were crying, the oldest cos she hadn't finished her homework or cleaning the kitchen, and because the baby had been crying all nite and because she was just so tired. Turns out daddy had been sitting in his office all nite watching TV.

I had no idea this is how she spent every evening I worked. And it was the last time she spent all evening doing the things the other adult in the house should have been doing. She was not his enabler, she was a child and his victim.

When we separated a few days later I found out he had rented and furnished a place to live before we ever discussed his moving out. Made me wonder if he hadn't set her up. Knowing what my reaction was going to be.

I think she did a few of the above, so I didn't answer. I think she lived the good life (memoralized in the tatoo) - movies, shopping, visiting friends, phone conversations, internet, hanging out at home leisurely watching TV, dropping off Caylee at a friends to babysit so she could go out and party or spend time with a boyfriend. I think she was always able to get money by dipping her claws into Cindy's pocketbook or that of unsuspecting friends. She probably did her fair amount of shoplifting. Her so-called job enabled her to work from home or work her own hours, so she wasn't tied to a 9-5 and could easily be anywhere at anytime. I think this was coming to an end because Caylee was beginning to really talk and would now be able to report CA about what she did that day.

The last line is an excellent observation! Why now? Well, Caylee was probably talking now and beginning to say things Casey didnt' want Cindy to know...like the "puppy" Cindy said she kept talking about. Great thought on that one!

Hanging at her boyfriends pad to be more specific. When she wasnt shopping.lol.

In one of his interviews LA said he had verified that Casey was working. He said he followed the trail to the first of this year and did not see a reason to chase it beyond that. He refused to say where. I think had it have been CEO of a buisiness he would have said. It must have been something the family felt ashamed of.

I reckon she was a DNA collection technician.

I agree that he knew what she was doing and it's more than likely sketchy. But why the curiosity for him to even think to dig into what she was doing?

She was probably hanging out on the internet all day claiming she was"working" yakking on the phone, shopping with stolen money, lounging at home watching crime shows, god only knows what else

I agree - internet... it's easy to burn a few hours here and there being a RESPONSIBLE parent much less one that... well...

OMG, that makes me want to gag.

What I don't get is, if she was just hanging out at home, why didn't Caylee ever bust KC out on that? Wouldn't CA or GA have asked Caylee every day what she did that day? What her and the "nanny" did? Wouldn't Caylee have said stuff like "Mommy and me watched TV today" ???? It's just bizarre.

Maybe Caylee had not yet begun speaking really clearly and this was the source of her needing to find a way to keep her asleep, CHLOROFORM, so she could not rat her out about how they were spending their days. I mean, I have watched and listened to the video of her "reading her book" repeatedly and there is never a coherent word that I can make out...So perhaps she was just beginning to develop her language skills and THAT was a BIG problem for little miss sunglasses...

OBT means Orange Blossom Trail, in case anyone didn't know

When I lived in Orlando in the 80's There was a song that went something like this Here on obt you can find love for a fee or something like that..........

I remember hearing that song, I think it's a country type song by someone like David Alan Coe or someone.

i have a feeling that "none of the above" is the answer. I think she pretended to go to work or had an excuse why she only worked p/t whatever.

She just got money from her parents when she needed it I bet. Most likely borrowed from everyone she knew. With this chick there is no telling what she was doing. I tend to think she hung out at home a lot, but then the neighbors would know if she were home during the day wouldn't they?

I have known liars in my lifetime, but this girl really takes the cake. Too bad an innocent child had to suffer at the hands of this nut.

Wasn't Cindy claiming her as a dependent on her income tax? If Casey were working she would have had to pay taxes. Is Cindy that dense t realize Casey never filed? And the kind of job Casey said she had with its complete independence was a job only an experienced high level exec would have..and that would come with a pretty high salary, enough to pay for her own apt and phone bill..how can cindy be such a fool? And what is so disgusting is that she strikes out at everyone else for not believing all her daughter lies.

how can LE believe a kidnap story when it changes so many times. How can anyone believe it when she has made up a nanny story for 2 1/2 years? Its a farce. It reminds me of Comedie Francaise where the characters and plot are so frustrating you just want to pull out your hair.

. I think this was coming to an end because Caylee was beginning to really talk and would now be able to report CA about what she did that day.

Unfortunately from the sounds Caylee was making while reading her book on video she couldn't talk much and by her friends never said anything except "what's up dude?"

I didn't vote because there wasn't a selection for "all of the above. I think she did different things on different days...not the same thing every day.

This is the one main thing that I can't figure out. If she was going to malls or the library, someone would have come forward by now. If she was at a strip bar, phone sex, internet *advertiser censored*, that would have been sold to a tabloid (anything-or-a-buck type of people) by now. If she was staying at home, one of the neighbors would have surely come forward to the police. She doesn't seem to have long lasting relationships to cover the entire 2-year time period so surely, if she was 'hanging out' at someones house, someone would have come forward by now.

Driving places costs money. Feeding a toddler costs money (they eat constantly). I would think that CA & GA would surely have noticed all the food that would go missing if they were staying at the house. Plus, they'd notice all the dirty diapers in the trash and various messes that toddlers love to create that aren't always easy to clean up. Plus, at that age children are just starting to enunciate words enough that you can really understand what they are saying. So I bet that whatever it was that she was doing with Caylee during the day was about to be exposed, by Caylee.

I find this whole 'what did she do all day' thing perplexing. It's the piece of the puzzle that is completely missing for me. KC had to be doing something to be bringing in money on a somewhat regular basis. After 2 years she would have been caught stealing from stores by now or at least been on the 'regular returners' list at most stores and would not be able to play that game anymore.

CA doesn't strike me as the type of mother who would just readily hand over gas and food money. I get the feeling that she would really give KC a hard time about it (deservedly so) with questions such as "how much DO you earn KC?" "why do you need money when you have a job?" I also think GA would have started investigating on his own, in secret, what his daughter was doing during the day if he had become truly suspicious of her activities earlier on.

Which leads me to wonder: HAS someone come forward to the police and it is an important piece of evidence and they are keeping it quiet?

I agreee with your entire post BUT if she was "escorting" would that really come out so quickly? This is an odd thing to say but I have a friend who's daughter actually started doing escorting. i find this odd just because I never knew anyone with this particular "job". Anyway durring the day she seemed pretty much aimless to the rest of the working world. Spent huge time on phone and internet lining up her next "gig". The part that does not fit is KC SEEMED to not have money and the person I know had lots of money. Unless KC has a stash on the side somewhere. Also escorting takes a lot of personal high maintenece from what I have seen. hair, nails, toenails, body art, outfits so since that person is so highly wrapped up in themselves a lot of $$ earned are gone. Gone before they are earned. There was also a lot of drug activity that went with this "job". Thankfully this young girl got out of the biz and cleaned herself up/ Actually is working as a counselor.
So I voted there is a posibility in my mind she was "escorting". IMHO only.

You would think wouldn't you that Cindy would wqnt answers. But she doesn't strike me like she cares. i mean she will rage about her account dwindling but at the same time she hands out her credit card to Casey as she did when Casey lied about wanting to go on vacation. And Casey does steal her mother's credit cards on a regular basis. Why would Cindy pay a $500+ phone bill for her daughter every month and believe some lie it was work related when she knew darn well the company would pay if it were true. And i just don't get it with the way Casey stole money why she would come up short for food or gas certainly not in this 2 month period.

Casey is exactly like her mother ...as when she continued to lie to Yuri right after she admitted she hqd lied about everything. Cindy sees the facts knows exactly what to do and then continues to deny. She also sees her accounts drained, gets mad and continues to hand out money no questions asked...oh i take that back...plenty of questions asked which Casey has wonderful 'I'm the perfect daughter ' answers for.

Is this some form of dementia?

Makes the most sense to me. She had the perfect cover, a job that she could make her own hours and it wouldn't seem out of the ordinary.

How can you say that: "wouldn't seem out of the ordinary"? No high school dropout with only 6 mos experience at a minimum wage job, and a 2 yr old child has that kind of job with such responsibilities. If she did what would she be doing hanging with students . Oh her friends must have been so flattered that she was hanging with them. They must have looked up to her and admired her and have been ready to do anything she said.

Do I recall correctly that Casey ran up one of Cindy's cards to the tune of $45,000? That would be plenty or at least enough to party and meet expenses for two years, especially if she didn't have to pay rent.
Where she went with Caylee during the days she didn't have a sitter might be interesting. Perhaps hanging out at the mall and park alot?
With all the credit card offers that are sent out, it might not be too hard to take a fake one out and then make sure you got the mail first one the day the bill comes.
Pay a little on the interest and the credit could last a long time.
