Which Specific Aspect of this ENTIRE Case Keeps You Drawn IN???

Someone asked me this months ago and this is what I said, "There's something in it for everyone":

1. Murder Mystery -- Who dun it to be sleuthed, cell phone pings, sunshine law document dumps, etc.
2. Search for Caylee, a young missing child
3. Sex -- Sexy and young "Tot Mom" who had multiple boyfriends, unknown father of victim, allegations of incest and abuse (from Casey's mouth), allegations of naughty pictures
4. Drugs -- allegations of Xanax, chloroform, pot, etc.
5. Money -- Pictures and videos sold, licensing fees, huge rewards, bond money
6. Characters -- Casey, Cindy, George, Lee, Leonard, Baez, Tim, Nejame, et al.
7. Extreme family dysfunction (goes with #5) -- just my opinion

Need I say more? It's got something for everyone!

I was following the case more closely when Caylee was missing. Knowing that she was out there all alone somewhere was really bothering me. After she was found, I felt a great sense of relief that at least she is no longer hidden.

I continue to follow the case because deep inside, I am fearful that justice will not be served.

The Anthony family is eerily similar to my family of origin. Even after we scattered to the wind, I expected that I would ultimately get a visit from the police to notify me of a murder. It didn't happen that dramatically--but death did result from the deliberate inaction of a family member.

So, I am gripped by both the similarities and differences. I see a lot of us in the Anthony family. I have far more empathy for them than many seem to have--but am incredibly frustrated by their behavior, too. (You know how, when you're watching a horror movie, you want to yell at the character climbing the stairs to turn around! go back down!? Well, I feel that way a good deal of the time when I see and hear the Anthonys.)


I watch this case with the hope that the Anthonys (who I believe are essentially good, if damaged by a lifetime of Casey) triumph over this horror and are able to move forward in life, with each other. I cannot imagine the horror they are experiencing, and hope that their very visible love and devotion for one another will win out--and they will get the help they need to survive this horrendous, horrendous situation as a family.

I didn't know that Websleuths existed until I found it through a Caylee google search. I think what keeps me interested is the depth of information that is available here. It's so much more than what regular media coverage provides. All organized and available for discussion with others...my burning questions always get answered and I've found that many others have the same questions.

That being said, I have an adult daughter with many personality traits of Casey...thankfully she is not a parent and hasn't murdered anyone....and thankfully I am not Cindy or George...I have made her accountable for her actions, I don't support them.

When I heard Casey's uncensored phone call from jail where she spoke of wanting Tony's phone number to Cindy, the hair on my neck stood up....except for the obvious content, it could have been a conversation I've had with my daughter ver batum, the tone, the avoidance of the important subject, the selfishness....

I am not for certain what sucked me in. it could have been the 31 days Caylee was missing before she was reported missing, it could have been the fact that it just gets a little more bizarre everyday. it might have been the fact that we had a web cam and could see these people in a way the world would have never guessed possible, all the while waiting for one of them to plead for her safe return, for them to do what most would do if their child was missing.....but never did they even pretend to do something most would consider normal. maybe its just me i don't really know how so many lies can come out of one group of people at one time.

I am curious as to what specific aspect of the case seems to draw in and keep our attention. For me...it is the web of "lies" that KC has told. My curiosity keeps me wondering "Where did these particular lies come from?", "Is there any truth to her statements?", "Was there any backward meaning to her story?". I am curious what motivates other WS members to stay so close to this issue.

I'm fascinated by the grandparent's behavior. I've never seen people act like this before - not in public anyway.

What peaked my interest was that a small child was missing and had not been reported for 31 days. The twist and turns, lies and mistruths were mindboggling and enthralling. What keeps me drawn in is the need to see that justice is served for Caylee. This sweet, innocent baby has no one but law enforcement and the voices of society to demand that be done. I guess I just want to be one of those voices.

Please don't bash me, it has not been "All about Caylee" to me. My infatuation with this case is the Anthony family and their pursuits.

Their actions have baffled and mesmorized me from the beginning. I first became interested in this case July 21 when Cindy was interviewed by Meagyn Kelly. Cindy actually hung up on Kelly during the interview.

That caught my attention in a way that no other missing person story ever has. I have been intrigued (obsessed? LOL) by the family dynamics and subsequent outrageous behavior since.

I suppose I will follow it all closely until the bitter end to see if we find out who did what and where will it all go from there. I think this story will go on for years, and will include insights into the real KC and new careers and lifestyles for GA/CA/Lee.

I was totally amazed that she took them to Universal and walked them down the hall and then turned around and said "Ok, I'm lying."

At this point most of my interest is that I really really want justice for Caylee, but also, I am still amazed at Casey's lies and her expectation that people will believe them. It blows my mind that anyone is still seriously talking about Zani the Nanny and the possibility they might still try to use her in Casey's defense. It just blows. my. mind.

What keeps me interested in this case is the fact a day hardly ever goes by that something doesn't happen in this family. It is like reading a book. You just keep telling yourself I'll just read one more page. And every time I turn another page there is another twist to the story. We have intrigue, mystery, conspiracy, horror, just to name a few. You just can't put this book down.

I live in the Orlando area. The first night this story hit the news, I listened and knew then and there that Caylee was dead. I figured it would be a few days before Casey admitted it and then on to the next story.

When I read about her lies, the audacity of taking the detectives to Universal, I was stunned and thought WTF is going on here. From that point on, I was hooked. As many posters have mentioned - if this were a movie or a book, you would either walk out of the theater or toss the book because it would just be too bizarre and not believable even for a book or movie.

All the info on the case is keeping me here. I have never seen a case where so much of the official documents have been released before the trial. I had theory after theory after theory on what happened, why it happened and how it happened - right now it looks like I wasn't even close on any of it

Every single time I think, ok, I can step back now, most everything has been settled, something else comes along to draw me right back in. I sit here and think how this case makes my head spin and wonder how Detective Melich and Detective Allen feel every time there is another twist and turn.

DH has been in LE for over 30 years, one of our best friends is a forensic psychologist who worked with various LE for over 25 years - I have heard lots and lots of 'war stories' from them both over the years but never one that comes even close to this.

Caylee is an Irish name, meaning, "slender."
