I've been amazed at the attention this whole Miss USA story is getting. It just proves once again how disgusting the gossip TV shows are, and how lame cable news is.

First off, the press conference that she held with Donald Trump (owner of the pageant) was broadcast live as BREAKING NEWS on the cable networks. At first I thought the Donald had used his hair to sled down Mt. Hood and rescue those guys, but that's another breaking news story. No, this news conference was to announce that...um, hot blonde chicks sometimes drink a lot and dance and party in New York City and do drugs. But she's sorry! And she thanks God for helping her! But mostly she thanks Donald Trump for letting her keep her crown.

Bahahahahahahaha - Life can be so unfair sometimes ----- :waitasec:

Hey Poco, I have to comment on this " breaking news story " too. How low can you go? This whole story is garbage, I think. A ploy for more attention and publicity for The Donald. This girl is a little blond bimbo and she's only sorry she got caught. All the babble about her being a young girl from a small town, who got caught up in big city life is a crock.:boohoo: There is alot of real news right now, and we have to listen to this? Yeah, she's a great role model for our daughters!?!?!? Party!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know the difference between the Miss USA and Miss America? Who goes on to the Miss World pagent?

I think Donald Trump is using this situation as an opportunity to bring attention to the Miss USA pageant (which probably has been falling in the ratings for years). I also think that this girl should have been canned. I watched a few minutes of her fake crying and then observed how she turned snippy when the media was asking her questions that she didn't want to answer. In any case, I think Trump made a big mistake allowing her to retain her title. She is no role model, IMO.

I agree, Nan. He should have made an example of her.

There have been reports of numerous indiscretions on her part, including contributing to Miss Teen USA's delinquency. I read somewhere that people at the Miss USA pageant hate her and that she was a party girl when she got to New York.

I didn't even know there was a Miss USA pageant, much less that Trump owned it or whatever. The girl sure gave a performance with all her fake crying. She instantly went back and forth from crying to talking normally. Sounded very immature and almost like mental problems to me.

I believe Miss USA goes to Miss Universe, Miss America is the big kahuna. I have no idea who goes to Miss World. This girl should have been dethroned. Just more publicity for Donald.

My favorite was when she said "Expecially" instead of especially.

Totally agreed, Nan. She should have been fired.

There are more important issues in this country to be covered. IMO all this did was give millions of dollars worth of publicity to Donald and the Miss USA Pagent. She still has months to finish up her year and time will tell if she's really interested in cleaning up her act. Wonder how she'll be spending New Years Eve?

What do you expect from a coke addict - bahahahahaha!!!

Again, my heart goes out to her............... :boohoo:

I do not know this girl personally but my nephew is friends with a friend of hers (make sense?). He was telling me this past Sunday that she has always been a party girl who LOVES to drink. She actually showed up at her home county's pagent drunk and when she went to give her speech, she was slurring words and being degrading. They had to escort her off stage before her speech was over and even then she was stumbling as she went. New York did not cause her so-called lifestyle. She has been a pro at it for quite awhile.

IMO, she definitely should have her crown taken away. What a freaking poor example this is for today's kids. :hand:

We could have a Miss Websleuths, but from what I have seen, most of us wouldn't set a very good example....... I would probably win, anyway.

I can't believe this crap actually made BREAKING NEWS on MSNBC..I was like you got to be kidding me! First of all in my opinion she should have to let go of her title she knew the rules and there is no second chances when you hold such a title. Second of all I can't believe Donald Trump in his news conference saying how she is nothing like Miss Universe who did a HORRIBLE job. You know the only horrible thing he is referring too was that Miss Universe gained weight while holding the title. She wasnt running around town like a trailer park hooker!

Breaking News? for that? Nope, I don't care about Miss, Ms, Mrs., Mr., Dr. or any other title, America... I also didn't know Mr. Trump owned the pagent.. WOW, now that was big news..

As a former competitor - the Miss America Competition is the "real" one. The women are actually incredibly accomplished - if you've ever watched the talent portion - it's amazing. They're also well-spoken and beautiful. The untelevised interview portion is a huge part of their score, but unfortunately swimsuits gets the viewers. Winners get college scholarships, etc. I don't believe there is a worldwide corollary for Miss America, but Junior Miss is the official teen competition for them. (I did Jr. Miss and am now a judge...great experience and NO swimsuit - just a fitness program - an aerobic workout in shorts and loose t-shirt. Also no ball gowns - suits and dresses.)

Miss USA and Miss Universe are essentially modeling competitions. No talent required. I believe the winners get modeling contracts or other compensation.

Anything else - Miss World, etc. are just other organizations unaffiliated with the others that spring up as money making enterprises. Many times, the women, girls, toddlers themselves have to raise "sponsorships", so they essentially pay to compete. This is a HUGE racket.
