Whoa! Meter Reader gave tip on August 13th!

So there are actually 21 people who think the Meter Reader was KC's accomplice. What did she do? Was he actually out reading meters one glorious summer morning and runs into KC, in her tank top and shorts, in the backyard preparing to dispose of her beautiful child's remains. So, in return for help and silence she offers herself to him. Later, he gets a guilty conscious for falling to her feminine wiles and calls in anonymous tips. Waits....Nothing comes of it and so he goes looking for himself while taking a pee. Is this what the 21 people think? Or do you think this guys, whose meter reading route just happens to be on Hopespring is in on with her the whole time? Hollywood calling!

at the time of this posting there are only 8 of which I'm one. The question did say "gut" feeling. I don't think it's that unusual for a perp to also become the "rescuer" but it could be I watch too much tv. lol
I found that the bush was thick, the timing bazaar, and the several calls to the same place by the same guy a bit more than weird. If he had also called about other places as well, I might not have thought whoa. Nevertheless, time will tell, and I personally have suspected many other "accomplices" as well, though not together or at the same time. I have speculated far too much. In my defense I admit to being a stupid newbie.

The Sheriff is saying that the Meter Reader who found the bones on Dec 11th.. also called in a tips on Aug.11th, 12th and 13th.

They are doing "administrative follow up" to see what actions were takin on those dates reguarding the tips.

The are also saying that maybe he wasnt in the woods to "relieve himself" but following up on his own info.

Maybe he new Casey? etc etc etc.

My personal opinion.. from being a meter reader myself for 4 years....

He DID NOT know KC... he knew of the missing baby case...

It was on one of his routes.. one of the many he covers each month...

In Aug. he smelt a strange smell and called it in 3 Days in a row,, (its not like this case itsnt all over the news).....

after getting no good response ... he chose to check the spot a little more each month when he came across it in his route (meter readers know their areas well and know when something isnt right.... we often even know our customers when we go in the yard)....

I believe he did his civic duty and called into the tipline.. 3 days in a ROW...

after hearing nothing on the news of caylee being found he continued to search a little on his own each month.... until he found something... he was in the same area every month at the same time... nobody else was searching that area.........


In addition I would like to add the thought....WHO was the LE officer who responded to the scene in Aug. of a strange smell 3 daYS IN row and cleared the area????

She could have been found 4 months ago!!!! Wow...just gets more bizzare. They must have some paper trail of the tips b/c LE just stated that he called the 11, 12, 13. They wouldn't release that if they didn't at least have the initial tip information.

This kind of answers (for me at least) why he called his superior and not 911. He KNEW that his name would have been taken, he KNEW we would ALL know his whole history before the story broke that her body was found.

One thing is clear. Police will have taken statements over this last several days and even polygraphed if the meter reader agreed. If he passed, it would elliminate him as involved. If he refuses, there is a problem and more investigation along that line of involvement. My guess he passes.

as to lack of followup, just think of the 5000 sighting tips pouring in at that time along with the mountains of paperwork, reports and interviews and you realized things fall through the cracks. Ive seen it happen. Good thing is it narrows down time line and places the remains near her home and in area KC and LA were familiar with but phony Zanny or cohorts wouldnt have been familiar with.

Bug spray could have been applied to kill bugs in trunk or try to keep them away but more could have been applied later to delay onset of bugs in woods since its common knowlege they use bugs to determine timeline of death. She would want to distance herself from the original DOD as far as possible and hindering bugs a good way to buy a few days in her timeline and lend credance to her story of kidnap and subsequent murder by Zanny or other involved.

Remember always, KC liked to watch CSI type shows, knew enough to research means of death on net prior and that one of the CSI characters in a tv New Detective series was named ZMG. Like most criminals, she knew just enough to make her think she was smart enough to fool police and with her ego and history of lying success thought she could get away with it. So did S Peterson. KC forgot, that the people in those CSI shows almost always got caught.

So he called the crimeline for those past times. Finally 911 when he saw the skull. He gets no reward for calling 911, but Caylee is found. If he had kept calling crimeline, he would still not get a reward because no one followed up. hmmmmm.... Thank god he was persistant and didn't remove the bag and drop it on LE's doorstep.

I am not sure who said this, but someone was indicating that they were not finding the bones in a wide broad area, rather they are finding them in a rather long straight trail that runs diagnally accross the area. They said that that trail of bones or straight line is indicative of a body being moved by water flooding and drainage.

I have to agree here.... I believe the body/bones were moved by the flooding that occured in that area.............

If the Meter reader smelled something that strong in August she obviously was there.
Yet now this plays perfectly into the 'someone dumped the body later to frame poor Casey' defense.
I mean after all LE 'cleared' the area.

On NG tonight it was mentioned the meter reader was assigned a different route after August. He was recently reassigned to the Anthony neighborhood.

Sounds to me like he was just doing his own follow up from previous circumstances, and he was right all along.

Not really. The best cadaver dogs are like pregnancy tests--they won't give you a false positive, but they're capable of giving a false negative.

I'm laughing as I write this because this is a much more delicate explanation than the one TM gave me one day when I boomeranged off a giant spider web with strands like fishing line. "Why don't we just bring in cadaver dogs?" I asked, flailing my arms wildly about, trying to untangle myself.

JMO but I think with a $250K reward outstanding any meter readers in that area would all be looking out for anything suspicious while running their routes.

The $250K award was for an alive Caylee. The $50K award that Leonard Padilla offered was taken back because of people going into other people's property.

I seriously don't know what to think about the utility worker, and his persistence to that area. I can't imagine why he was there in Aug, other then he could have smelled some thing.It seems with Casey saying that she felt that Caylee was close,and Kio telling her story of their place they played and hung out that this area would have extensively searched with the call from the utility worker. At this point he could be sorry he went back.

I've been thinking about it and I can't help but wonder how many times the meter reader tried to find this bag? I think I heard on Headline News that he was in trouble at work for using company time to look for Caylee. Could this have been something he did every day?

The meter reader is the hero in this story. I think his determination is great. Apparently a snake caused an OCSO officer to be derelict in his duty and in his response to the crime scene back in August. If it weren't for this meter reader, Caylee might never have been found.

I totally understand the Meter Reader - he had a feeling that was a place where someone might dump a body, and he kept searching, just like many people here.

What I don't understand is why the police would "assume" that bags dumped in the woods are mere "garbage" and not look through every bag when a very small child is missing.

That doesn't seem like correct police procedure to me, since this place was so close to the Anthony's home, and they knew that Casey borrowed a shovel, etc.

I could understand if the place was under water at one point - fine. But why wasn't this place searched right away, before the hurricanes? I trust law enforcement, but something went wrong here. :furious:
