The Tybee Island Police announced on FB in August that they were missing, then on August 22 they updated to say that the case had been downgraded from "Missing Person" to "Welfare Check." On November 22, the police announced that they are now considered missing again. They haven't yet updated FB to upgrade.

Kathryn Higginbotham was last seen on August 16 at a home on Jones Avenue on Tybee Island.

Officials believe she has her infant son, Giovanni Salaverria, with her.

Superior Court also has a pickup order for Kathryn Lee Higginbotham. She is 23, 5'5,' 110 lbs., with long brown hair. She has a history of possession of controlled substance, theft by shoplifting, and contempt of court.

Hopefully she and that baby are found. There's a father in the picture from the support cases, unknown if he's responsible, but hopefully if so, he can petition for custody. With the use of drugs, and DUIs (not to mention selling drugs) I worry about the welfare of that innocent child.

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: According to Tybee Island Police, Kathryn Higginbotham, and Giovanni Salaverria were found Tuesday morning by the Savannah Police Department.

The two were said to be residing in the City of Savannah.

Tybee Police say both the mother and infant son, Giovanni are alive. Police say that Giovanni is now in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.
