It looks like it rained on the 28th. So unless they had the dogs out before then; I can see why they didn't pick up a strong scent.

I don't know about you, but your link took me to Elmira, New York and it rained on the 28th there.

This link that I posted is from Wausau, Wisconsin and looks like it was sunny there on April 28th.

Our weather that week was /crazy/... We went from 28 degrees on that Tuesday, to 70/80 degrees on the weekend, and it snowed again a couple days later with 1-2 inches. Also, keep in mind that Taylor Co. is north of us here in Wausau, and it's usually got a little bit different weather (a little colder, and they seem to get more tornadoes than Marathon Co.).

I am wondering if the body found could be that of Stephanie Low, or Kayla Berg. Regardless, I hope they can ID the body quickly and someone's family will have closure of some sort.

As for Anita Bucki -- I don't think her brother would be one to know about the inner workings of his sister's marriage (living so far away and all). I don't know if they were really close, but if she was leaving him it's hard to just go along with the idea that he's a "great guy" as the brother has said.

All arrows point towards her husband, sadly... I hope they did a thorough search of the house and his car(s) before he had days to clean anything up - however, I think the main search was 4 days after her disappearance (she disappeared on Friday, and the major search with the roads closed happened on the Tuesday following).

Investigation Continues in Taylor County after Body Found

The Taylor County and Lincoln County Sherrif's Departments say the investigation into the body found in Taylor County is still ongoing.

The autopsy is being performed in Madison at the Wisconsin State Crime Lab to determine the identity of the remains found.

There has been no further word on the investigation since authorities wrapped up their work Friday evening.

We'll keep you up to date as the investigation unfolds.

The news media outlets up here were making all kinds of assumptions that the remains belong to Anita Bucki. Seeing as the remains were sent all the way down to Madison for ID at the state crime lab would indicate to me that the remains found were likely "older" than Anita's remains would be (if she is indeed deceased as I think is likely).

They've been looking for two other females that went missing in the last couple years as well -- Stephanie Low was last searched for in Lincoln Co. based on a tip (even though she was taken from Wausau/Marathon Co.), and Kayla Berg (lived in Antigo, but last known to be in Wausau after being dropped off at a vacant house).

Whomever it turns out these remains belong to, I pray some family will have some kind of closure. I also pray that Lincoln and Taylor Co. officials are doing a thorough job at the location the body was found - to keep hold of any evidence that might be there.

Prayers for the person found - that they may be able to Rest in Peace now, and that if someone hurt them that person will be held responsible. Also, prayers for whichever family is going to get that dreaded phone call once the remains are ID'd.

The problem I always have with depression or efforts to make positive changes in a woman's life is that both of those things would be signs of a normal healthy response to an abusive husband, but when the woman "disappears" without her wallet, clothes, money or other possessions the depression is taken as a reason to take off. I think it is just as much of an indicator of an emotionally or physically abusive spouse who got rid of his wife and said she just took off. Who could possibly appear to be completely fine if she was being controlled, manipulated, unloved , put down or otherwise abused? That's what cruel men do... They make their wife appear to be the one who is messed up or crazy!

TGIRecovered, you are very astute!
RIP Anita!!

She seem so happy wanting to start life over again.

I hope he likes his new pad.

I'll never understand how angry one can be to physically harm another.

uuuuugggghhhhhhh....another woman trying to start a new chapter in her life and the husband just can't let her go!!!!!! I'm so mad! There are sooooo many of these cases! What is WRONG WITH MEN!!!!!:furious:

Okay rant over....from the minute we read about her missing and the "story" her husband tells....we know the outcome.....I'm so sorry Anita....so very sorry.

RIP Anita

"Anita Bucki’s brother, Cliff Brown, of Rapid City, S.D., traveled to Merrill two days before his sister’s body was found and was on hand Monday when the arrest was made."

“I feel anger; I feel confusion,” Brown said Monday. “But there’s so much we don’t know. At least we know where my sister is.”

Anita's friend thought she was leaving him and didn't understand why she was there. It always makes me wonder if this type man has that much control, or if the woman is hanging on as well. It's so sad and such a horrible thing for her family to live with. Mixing anger and grief is so much worse.
RIP dear.

I'm glad they were able to find her, and put this creep behind bars. At least she can be laid to rest now, and her family can start to attempt to process all of this. I can't imagine the kind of anger her brother likely has right now after defending her husband as such a good guy, especially... It's all just so maddening to think about.

RIP Anita, my prayers go out to your loved ones - especially your children and grandchild.

Sigh...when will this ever end?!?

Rest in Peace, Anita.
