A convicted sex offender pleaded not guilty Friday to killing a real estate agent who was showing him a rural house for sale.

James Hole, 34, of Brookfield, Ill., was ordered to stand trial on charges of first-degree intentional homicide, arson and burglary in the March 18 death of Ann B. Nelson, 71. Hole remains in jail on $1 million bond.

this isn't really on-topic but I can't resist. One of the vets I work for....her husband was the judge to set bond for this guy but then the case went to another judge. Well she telling me how happy she was her husband set bond for him cause he always sets bond the highest of all the judges in Jefferson county....anyways I was very excited I knew the judge and that he set bond high for him, thank god!

James Hole of Brookfield, Ill. pleaded no contest in November to first-degree intentional homicide... The conviction carried an automatic sentence of life in prison.

Hole's defense attorney Jeff De La Rosa asked for parole in 30 years. County Circuit Judge Jacqueline Erwin denied parole, saying Hole has a long history of violent crime and could still be a risk in 30 years.
