The current owner of the house being dug up is the accused murderer's stepmother. She, too, believes he killed Becky, and has given permission for the dig.

For years, a missing woman's mother begged police to search an abandoned fallout shelter.
With volunteers, Karen Kraemer started digging herself Tuesday and may have found the remains of her daughter, Becky Marzo.
The excavators discovered what appears to be blonde hair, teth and decomposing body parts found under a layer of lime, which is used to help decompose bodies....."I think my baby is down there," Kraemer told TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Tom Murray.....

Here is a detailed article from this mornings newspaper: Yard dig finds what may be remains
....An excavator used a backhoe to puncture a hole in the top of the structure, allowing workers to climb in. Inside, they focused on a small area of soil in an otherwise concrete floor and began digging up small amounts of dirt................Kraemer has spent six years following leads across the country, even excavating graves, in the search for her daughter.

Kraemer said she asked the police in 2004 to excavate the bunker. After being told there wasn't enough probable cause, she decided to do it herself. She said she expects the excavation work will continue Wednesday.

"Becky deserves to be found. Every missing person deserves to be found," said Kraemer, who at one point stood weeping with her arms locked around the neck of Marzo's ex-husband, who came down to the site.

"Every mother deserves to bury their child," she said, "and I have not been given that opportunity."..........

Mike McGarry, who has used his ground-penetrating radar to uncover lost graves for cemeteries, said the darkened soil appeared to be under a quarter-inch layer of lime, which can be used to speed decomposition.

Dear God, I can't believe LE didn't search there.

You need enough probable cause for a judge to issue an order for a search by law enforcement. Law enforcement claims they didn't have that.

However, you need probable cause to exhume a grave, and Becky's mother has been able to get at least one grave exhumed (I think more).

I find that very interesting. Not enough probable cause to search the suspect's/victim's house, but enough probable cause to disinter a total stranger's grave?

An analysis of items found in a bunker excavated outside a north side home Tuesday determined that no human remains were found inside, a Milwaukee police spokeswoman said.

Private workers who excavated the bunker Tuesday said they found what appear to be fragments of bone, teeth and hair and dark sections of soil consistent with decomposed matter.

An analysis of the items determined that no bone fragments or hair samples were present, police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said Wednesday.

An anthropologist will make the final determination about the items, according to the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.

Rats, I was so hoping for Becky's Mom to find her daughter.

Becky's mom is not giving up

.......The search around the house is wrapping up, and the group's search will be relocated to a nearby park. If nothing comes of the park search, their next site will be in Kenosha......

Missing Woman's Mom Wants to Build Memorial
MILWAUKEE - The mother of a missing woman wants to build a memorial garden for parents of missing or murdered children.

Becky Marzo has been missing for years.

Her mother, Karen Kraemer, wants to build that memorial garden in Milwaukee.

Last week, Kraemer hired investigators to excavate a vacant lot where she thought her daughter might be buried, but nothing was found.

I was wondering if anyone had taken this up as a possible match: age/date range fits and so does previously fractured nose.

She could have cut her hair, permed it, dyed it or tried ANYTHING to get away from whomever was scaring her.

Becky has been missing for 11 years now.

I believe this case can be solved and I believe LE knows the truth and is withholding the information. Families deserve closure.

I have a story to tell.
