• Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Blond hair, blue eyes. Egan goes by his middle name, Colin. His left hand is slightly deformed from an accident. He wears gold wire-framed eyeglasses.

[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] Egan was last heard from called he his family in Mequon, Wisconsin on August 6, 1972. He was in San Francisco, California at the time and told them he would hitchhike to Denver, Colorado and catch a flight home to Wisconsin within the next week. He never arrived home and has never been heard from again.

Few details are available in his case. His father died in 1999, and in the obituary it was noted that Egan preceded him in death. Wisconsin authorities are investigating.

Strangely enough, considering how out in the boonies it was then, Orin Anderson would go missing from James's home town in August of the next year. Not saying there's a connection, because there almost certainly is not. William Meyer, also from Wisconsin, it would seem (Fond du Lac Sheriff's Office working on his case) also was last heard of from San Francisco in 1972. Of course, lots of people were going missing from out there at the time.

James Colin Egan was in San Francisco California on August 6th, 1972 when he called his family back home in Mequon Wi.

He was calling to inform them he was traveling back to Denver, Colorado to catch a flight home to Mequon, Wisconsin within the next week. James was hitchhiking.

His family has never heard from him again.

James is described as a white male, 5’9”, and 130 pounds. He has a full head of blond/strawberry medium length hair, is clean shaven, and has blue eyes.

His left hand is slightly deformed from an accident. He wears gold wire-framed glasses.

James goes by his middle name, Colin.

He was 18 years old when he went missing and would be 67 years old today.

He probably met with foul play while hitchhiking, which is a risk. But maybe he never made it out of San Francisco. He obviously never made it to the airport in Denver, anyway.

I contacted the detective. We may have a match. I believe his parents and brother are dead, but trying to figure out if his two sisters are alive: Sarah and Penelope.

I'm afraid to ask haha. But we left it as her trying to get a hold of Ozaukee for the dna, they have it on their end. I found his sister so I guess we're still at the testing or talking to ozaukee stage.

I asked, and was told they found out they have no dna yet on their end, so they need to exhume the body in San Francisco. However they're discussing whether the city will pay or if they need to pursue grants.
