Late Thursday, Linda Vue posted a message on Facebook regarding the support the family has received:

We, Elijah's family want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers you've shown for Elijah. In such a difficult time, your kindness and compassion have brought us great comfort. The fact that so many of you care deeply for Elijah means the world to us, and we are forever grateful.
We understand that many of you want to honor Elijah in your own special ways, such as through memorial services or virtual vigils. Although our family has not been directly involved in the planning of these events, we want you to know how much we appreciate the genuine love and thoughtfulness behind them. Elijah means so much to us, and seeing the impact he's had on others is both moving and comforting.
At this time our family is grieving the loss of Elijah and we are asking for privacy as we navigate through our pain and sorrow. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us, and while we may not be able to respond to everyone right now, please know that your kindness is felt and appreciated.

Hurry Up and Wait

Further proceedings delayed until November 6th. IMO, it will be a long time before someone(s) faces lasting accountability and punishment for terrorizing, torturing, killing and dumping darling little Elijah, but the patience that comes with waiting for justice is like no other I can think of. So many are watching.

Vang's attorneys appeared in court Friday afternoon for a status conference.

During the video conference, both the defense and prosecution asked for another 30 day to continue working on the case. The judge agreed.

  • Vang's next status conference is set for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6.
  • Baur's next court date, also a status conference, is set for 3 p.m. Oct. 22.
  • Both cases are being presided over by Judge Dewane.

IMO, you have to love the dignity and compassion of Captain Raatz, both of which seem evident during the interview.

At this point, as we wait for the investigation to culminate in the filing of charges against those who killed darling little Elijah, or left him to die, my mind keeps going back to that 1997 Nissan Altima sedan that Two Rivers LE took custody of on March 4th. LE said up front that the owner of the car -- who they didn't name -- was not involved in Elijah's disappearance. What caught my attention was the specific request made by LE, "that the public review surveillance camera footage captured on Feb. 19 between 2 and 9 p.m. for any sign of the vehicle." (The 1997 Nissan Altima)

Through all the weeks and then months of searching for Elijah, and following along as dribs and drabs of information came out about the jailed Vang and Baur -- their texts, the dreadful blindfold photo, etc. -- this police request about the Altima seemed to me to be directly related to possible evidence of Elijah's fate. February 19th was the day before Vang reported Elijah was missing. I mean, it felt like physical evidence, to me.

On Friday, Feb. 16th, the last known image of Elijah was captured on security camera as he and Vang entered an auto repair shop where Vang was having some kind of alcohol monitoring sensor/breathalyzer device installed on a car (not sure if it was his car.) If it was his car, that suggests to me that he wasn't legally permitted to drive a vehicle without such a device. Therefore, he might have needed to borrow a car to if he wanted to drive somewhere undetected. So did he borrow that Altima?

I'm still wondering all this time later what tipped LE to that car and what they found in it that made them think it might be connected to Elijah. Seven hours was ample time to borrow a car, drive around looking for a place to conceal that little boy's body, dump him there, then drive around looking for the perfect diversionary spot to drop his blankie, plant that, then return the car and still be home to drink a couple of beers and a knock back a sleeping pill or two. JMO.

Not sure if it’s me, but I’m not finding any new post updates here, especially with the news today.

Wow. Amazing he was found. I always wonder about when bodies are found, so randomly, if there was some sort of spirit guidance to the person who found the body.

An example, was how amazing it was that Caylee Anthony was found...

Wow. KB and JV are being charged in Elijah's death. KB is being charged with chronic neglect of a child, child neglect, etc. and JV is being charged with physical abuse of a child which caused death, hiding his corpse, and obstructing an officer.

Chronic neglect of a child resulting in death, neglecting a child and resisting or obstructing an officer charges were announced Thursday against Katrina Baur by Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre.

Jesse Vang is charged with physical abuse of a child, repeated acts causing death, hiding a corpse and resisting or obstructing an officer.

According to the complaint, about a minute after Vue called 911 to report Elijah missing, he got a message from Baur, directing him to tell police they were taking a nap and Vue left.

Both are expected in court Friday afternoon for a bail hearing.

An attorney listed as representing Baur did not immediately return a request for comment Thursday evening. Attorneys who had represented Vang are listed in court records as having since withdrawn.

Beyond relieved, but also beyond belief that darling little Elijah had such a cruel, fearful, tortured fate. I can't stand to think of his pain and confusion.

Why couldn't Baur simply have given him to extended family, people who surely would not have cracked his skull and stuffed him into a suitcase?

JMO, there are no excuses for these two. They don't get to have any excuses.

I can't even finish this. I don't understand how anyone can treat a precious little three-year-old this way. He took away his milk, wouldn't let him sleep, cold water ... And Katrina responds by text that she's amazed by Vang's "teaching." There was no teaching Katrina, your child was being tortured!!!

pg 11 "mommy come get me"

I hate these two!

I just can't with her. Loyalty and respect? Can't deal with his lying? He's a baby!! Her expectations are so off, so unfair. My head is ringing with Elijah's words, "good boy good boy good boy".

She set him up. Then punished him. Demonic.
