last seen 11 pm Friday leaving Final Lap Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Shawano.

Looks like she posted those photos the day before she went missing so I'm assuming she was happy. I'm assuming that picture in the pool is with her hubby; he looks pretty happy too.

The Final Lap bar she was last seen has some interesting comments on Facebook from the day before she we missing. Which I assume relate to the imminent closing. Seems like there have been some unsavory activities going on in the area.

I'm an hour away and granted I don't listen to local news much but I'm in shock I haven't heard much of this. The local stations have little to nothing other than the canned one paragraph statement.

Usually missing people within 4 hours of here are big news. It's a small town area.

The picture The Final Lap and others are sharing of her on Facebook for some reason is the blonde one not the brown hair as in the description.

I listed Heather Szekeres on the map and list in the above post #79. She's one of three Native Americans (four if it turns out Janet Raasch is Native American, possibly related to Tribal Judge David Raasch, Stockbridge-Munsee) that have gone missing or were killed in the area since 1963, out of a total of 20+ missing or unsolved murders. (See above link for the rest)

Breaking News: Sheriff's Dept IDs Remains as Missing Shawano Woman

The Shawano County Sheriff's Office says they have identified human remains found in the Town of Richmond in 2014 as those of a woman who went missing from the City of Shawano nearly two years ago.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, the remains are that of Heather Szekeres. She was reported missing by her husband in June of 2013.
...
Agencies investigating Skekeres death are considering it a homicide.

The former operator of the Final Lap Tavern was recently busted for sexual assault in the basement of that same tavern. I wonder if there's any connection between him and Szekeres murder?

The owner of the bar was his wife who moved to Missouri late last year. The license for the bar recently expired.

It appears the state took over the murder investigation December 2014.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Department is no longer the investigating agency and said the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.

DCI has not released any information regarding the investigation, but have only confirmed they are handing the case.

Szekeres is the second unsolved missing persons case (now murder case) from Shawano County. The other one still missing is Carmen Maria Owens who also disappeared from downtown Shawano, Wisconsin.

WCCA shows Sheila Davis recently had a warrant issued for her arrest 5/14/2015 for Burglary-Building or Dwelling, Abduction of Child-Detaining & Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor.

It would be interesting to see if the tavern operator or his wife was the "witness" who last saw Szekeres leaving the bar.
