Still so very relieved and happy to see her reunited with family and her pup.

Looking at the size of the house, I wonder if he had her restrained in the basement and when people came over, basically threatened her with her life if she made any noise. Also, we don't know if this guy had (m)any friends who would have stopped by anyhow. And for things like holidays, if he did have any plans, he may have gone to other people's houses, rather than have people over to his place.

If he planned it as well as the sheriff says he did, JP soundproofed a room or had some other way to keep anyone from hearing her IMO. The house I grew up in had a large basement with different rooms and if you were in the back of one of them, nobody could hear you upstairs.

Also, I don't go home for the holidays and I'm not a sociopathic killer. I have a good relationship with my parents; some families just don't get together for traditional holidays.

I have a question, and oh, how I hate to get back into the " door discussion".

We are required to have heavy double- steel core doors which open to the outdoors by our insurance company... No exceptions. This is a basic security measure where I live. I don't know if it's national or regional, or what, but all my doors have been double steel core with no glass inserts or decorative windows. I might should say the known fact that I live in a private community with new tech. operated gates, a manned guard station at both entrances, a fence around the property and patrolling guards 24/7, as well as an emergency guard to call and a sheriff's deputy with an on-site station.
We paid a lot for real estate with security I needed at the time.

If the Closs house had double core steel doors, could the assailant still have " shot his way in" if this is how he or they entered?
Wouldn't it take many shots and efforts to defeat double steel core doors or am I badly mistaken?

You know many posts ago I suggested this whole killing and abduction could have been completely random. Hence no social media or connections of any kind. Could it be?

Could have had a mental breakdown for some “unknown” reason. Everyone’s life is different and there is a breaking point to all of us. If u say no, I’m good, you haven’t been thru hell then. I’ve dang near been there for reasons nothing like this. There is only so much one person can take before they break. Homie had no record then snapped to do what he did...why?

You’re right, something caused him to decide to commit a crime like this, and do it in the way that he did.

Perhaps it was a slow build up, or perhaps there was a dramatic and sudden change in his life.

I think it’s possible he had a breaking point that pushed him from fantasy to action. Maybe dad cut him off financially, quit paying the mortgage in the cabin, told him to get out, get a job and pay his own way?

No need to blame this on mental illness. That's the first thing everyone does. IMO he's an incel aka 'involuntary celibate'. They feel entitled to a woman, and they are sick sick people. They have dozens of forums online, and often post about raping, kidnapping and murdering young girls. I am not exaggerating.

This didn’t quote the quote. It’s RE: maybe he had autism. Two thoughts here, from the parent of an autistic child. One it is NOT a mental illness! It is s developmental disability. Second, Autistic individuals are no more prone to violence than neurotypical individuals.

Not sure if you received a response, but I click on the name, go to their profile, and select " Add to my Ignore list", which has a total of 2 names of non-active members on it LOLOL.

RSBM. My comment was in response to someone saying they wondered how he was able to pull this off without someone knowing he had her there, especially during the holiday gathering season. And I said that even if he did have plans (which we don't know), they may not have been at his home. I did not say that people who don't get together for holidays are killers.

A commercial business is required to have steel doors where I live, homes no. They were in a rural area...would have to check the building codes to determine what is required...however, some homes can be grandfathered so changes are not required.

Quiet strength and I think her family knew that and thats why they appealed to her in those early press conferences - I’m now wondering if there were some rumors that helped LE come to their gut conclusion that she was alive? I'm not sure it was ever said that he was destitute. There's plenty of slackers out there who manage to leech of their parents for their entire lives. We'll have to wait and see about all that. What is an issue is if it was turned over to the credit union, he had the clock ticking on how long he could stay there undetected.

The crime happened because the perp committed a crime, not because the father didn't grab his gun, not because the door was wood, etc.

The person arrested is the person responsible for the crime.

Every case is different. In this specific case, the female victim, at barely 13 yrs old, saw her parents get blown away by a shotgun, by her attacker. They died so he could take her and hold her hostage. That sets up a very horrid emotional situation for this young girl.

I am not saying she is too weak to nail her attacker in court. I am simply questioning the necessity, given the fact that he will be on trial for double felony murder and child abduction. He will likely get 100 years or more, no chance of parole. So what id the point? Why put a fragile 13 yr old out in the public, high profile stage and have her discuss her 3 months of torture? I don't see the upside of that, JMO.

BBM I think we let Jayme decide instead of making assumptions about her. We do not know that she is fragile or that she is averse to holding this creep accountable. This creep needs to be tried for his crimes. Where I live they do not pick and choose which crimes to try the perp for. They try them for all committed and do their best to put them away. The severity of the crimes is what keeps them in jail. If you don't nail it shut, sometimes things happen. Just saying, take no chances as there are always loopholes.
