MOO, is it possible that Denise made the call, but before it connected, she saw/heard James go down, dropped the phone in the hallway and somehow managed to barricade herself in the bathroom, mere survival, but was shot and killed THROUGH the door (before the call connected)? Maybe that's part of the time lapse in the police log, LE having to breach that barricade? Did Denise call to Jayme to run? Or to call 911? (She might be unaware her call would connect.) Is it possible that Jayme, in trying to call 911 in the chaos, disconnected the live call? Was the suspect yelling that whole time? To whom? To Jayme? To an accomplice? Did he order her drop the phone (which would be the SECOND time the phone was dropped). Is that bathroom and the hallway visible from the front door? Could Jayme leave her bedroom without being immediately seen from the foyer? An accurate floor plan would answer a lot, it seems. Jayme may have bolted if she thought it was her only chance to survive and/or get help for her beloved parents. If she made it out the sliding doors, no doubt she was captured and abducted from there. Amateur speculation and MOO.

I wish this were a crime show. And not real. My heart breaks ....

It would take less than a minute to murder both parents.

If one will sit still watching their watch or clock for 4 minutes that is actually a much longer time interval than many may think.

It shows me it took him some time to force Jayme to come out. Maybe she is the one who had tried to hide in the bathroom.

Imo that is what is being overheard on the enchanced 911 call. Once he had kicked the phone away it picked up Jayme's voice pleading for someone to help her. By kicking the phone away it happened to land closer to where Jayme was trying to hide. Imo

It may have taken him some time by threatening her that he would come in and shoot her too if she didnt come out.

He may have given her a last warning so feeling she was going to be killed too she finally came out and that is when he forced her to leave with him.

Also in other cases DNA..fingerprints nor footprints were found of the murderer inside the home but they most certainly were inside and did the crimes.

Many times when the cases were solved other circumstantial evidence tied the suspect to the crimes.

So leaving no evidence behind never means this suspect wasn't inside of the home. Sometimes as I have heard cold case detectives say many times on ID 'all the luck seems to be on the side of the suspects.' Those are cases where the suspect left no evidence of themself at the murder scenes.

In the Grogene murder case it was one of the bloodiest crime scenes investigators said they had ever seen in Idaho.

Duncan took his time bludgeoning each of the three victims to death with an oversized mighty max hammer. Yet they never found any of his bloody footprints or bloody fingerprints nor was his DNA ever found inside of the home yet we all know he was there. And he was convicted of the three murders and then tried by the feds for kidnapping..raping 8 year old Shasta and the same for her brother when he murdered her 11 year old brother...Dylan.

So not finding any footprints...fingerprints..or any of his DNA never proves or means this particular suspect wasn't inside of this home.

It's no different than other killers/kidnappers who didnt leave any identifying evidence behind of themselves but were later proven guilty BARD based on other strong evidence.

Evidence showing they were the one who carried out the murder/s and/or taking a victim/s captive when they left the murder scene.

Hi, and welcome.

Do you know anything more about those religious classes?
Is it something where she would go by herself, or is it at school?
She’d be in classroom-like setting with kids her own age and an instructor. Usually lasts about an hour. It’s called CCD or “Confraterntiy of Christian Doctrine.”

That is my understanding. And I’ll bet someone heard this early on, assumed Denise was in the bathroom because of this, then started the false rumor that she had barricaded herself in the bathroom.

Sheriff stated phone was found between James and Denise. New Minnesota NPR article Sheriff stated phone found "in the door way of a bathroom hallway ." James body at front door. So Denise was found somewhere past the door way of the bathroom hall. IMO

Could you locate the part of the linked article where it talks about the guns in the house? I was unable to find anything? Thx

ETA: Nvrmd, I see you were referring to the video. The sheriff reported told media that JC had guns and that they were accounted for. In WI, is it mandatory to register all of your guns? Is that how the sheriff would know they were all accounted for? Is there a possibility JC could have had any guns that were not registered?
I've wondered that myself as per what research I've done, WI does not require guns to be registered nor is a permit required to purchase a gun. The only thing I can think of is LE went to a close relative like his brother and asked what guns he had or showed him a list of those in the house.

Sheriff: No fingerprints, no shoe prints, no DNA in Wisconsin double homicide, missing teen case

Minnesota Public Radio—wish I knew if they are saying they know they recovered no dna, prints BEFORE or AFTER getting back test results other article said expected back this week. Pretty stark. Answers a bit about where phone was, and maybe Denise.

So NO shoe prints found in the house. That blows away my first theory on how LE determined the killer(s) only went 5 feet into the house. Of course, the LACK of shoe prints could be that there was blood splatter and the only track through it were made by small feet going out. (That's gruesome to think about.)

I’ve been a way for awhile because we only have the same facts to kick around. It’s crazy that there have been no new breaks or leads on this case but it’s certainky one of the strangest and most mind boggling I’ve read in a long time.

"Find Jayme, we find the killer(s)". "When we get Jayme back, we will be able to determine [what happened.]"

Every time he has said something like this, Ive said to myself "but what if she is not alive, then how?"

The typical response would be that shes been assaulted so there will be dna. But what if she wasnt? What if there is no dna? How is he so sure that once Jayme is found, the killers will be too, and everything will be explained? Jennifer Short was found, but still today there are no answers.

It is unknown who made that call.

"There's like a distance to it or something's covering up the phone like a blanket," Fitzgerald said.

Police found the phone in the doorway of a bathroom hallway, away from where the two bodies were discovered, he said in an interview with MPR News.

I agree ... I think he’s optimistic they will find alive/body and can build from that... if u find body 5 yrs from now in field. Dunno what good that does ...

If they have POI and they find on their property or buried next to there hunting cabin... guess that could help ...dunno

I think Fitzgerald is smart in taking the few items he does have and releasing them slowly over time to keep case on front pages.... guessing in 3 weeks he’ll say where Denise body found... then at some point reslease part of 911 call ..? If perp yelling audible ??

OT.....I really like Rubicons, Bob. Been looking to purchase one. Lol

I thought about the same thing. That has to be how the rumor started Denise was barricaded in the bathroom when that evidently is not the case.

Imo

The 'Denise barricaded herself in the bathroom' story first came to light in the Daily Mail Online dated 21 October 2018:

'There is a report that someone allegedly knocked on the door and as the father went to answer it gunfire erupted through the door. That has not been confirmed yet as it's an active investigation,' the FBI source said.

'The mother appeared to have barricaded herself in the bathroom and called police,' added the source.

It now appears that the dispatcher may have been hearing Denise's panicked final moments as the killer stormed into the bathroom where she hiding.

I don't know where the DM got this information from, but i'm certain it wouldn't be from an FBI source!

Weird comment. Why say “bathroom hallway”?

In the bungalows I have been in ( that is what we call those kind of houses in MN. Maybe “ranch” , too) the bathroom is in the hallway where the bedrooms are.

Why did the Sheriff not say in the “hallway to the bedrooms”?

Usually in this type of house, the stairs to the basement are from the kitchen

Did anyone see this??? This is their church!!

Barron County Woman Pleads Guilty to Fraud & Tax Charges Stemming from Church Embezzlement
I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed however I've been following this form closely and do not remember this being mentioned. It could be important. It also mentions the woman's gambling debt....hence police visiting casino...... Maybe the Closs family knew about this?

Was this their church? I thought their church was in Cameron.

Wow! That is a lot of money!

So often, it seems, the embezzler has worked for a church.

Is this person in jail? Or has a prison term been given?
