I continue to believe, until strong evidence proves otherwise, this was a deliberate specific attack focused on the family, most likely one of the parents. I believe it was personal message and the perp showed up at the door with the weapon that did the damage. And when you come to someone's house with a loaded gun you bring along a strong message. Could be anything from a disgruntled employee to road rage or anything in between. I say less than a 5-10% chance it was centered on Jaymee or any online relationship or a case of the perp getting the wrong address. I believe we are going to find either one or both of the parents being specifically targeted and that the parents (at least one) knew the guilty party.

I just don't think this makes sense. There is no need to take Jayme unless it was about Jayme.

Press conference was as expected. Sheriff is working with very little. Vehicles of interest likely came from eyewitness accounts of vehicles in the area of the Closs home or the Jennie o plant in the days around the murders. Unfortunately these cars are quite common across the US.

My hope is that the people in the area who were driving by at that time in those vehicles, if they aren't involved, will contact LE asap to be eliminated as suspects. My guess is one was possibly involved and the other possibly not, JMO. Or both. Or neither. Argh!

Presser glitched out on me. Missed info about vehicles, but I know others got it.

* Choppers in the air today are gridding area for tomorrow's search.
* Search area based on info investigators have collected.
* Tips are important and led to search area, but he won't provide specific info on the tip that lead to the search area.
* Chain of evidence tomorrow: Volunteer teams will be led by LEO. DNR and WI State Patrol are assisting. Anything found will be handed to an LEO who will then hand to an evidence officer.
* He won't comment about info regarding James at the door of the house
* They do not know exactly what happened in the house.
* Cannot commit on question about any witnesses.
* Cannot assure the community about safety except to say no other similar crimes have taken place since this one. They do not know motive.
* No gag order on family. Family decided to have all communication through LE.

In a rural area like this, an SUV like that may not be as common as one would think, many people still drive much older cars. In a town like Barron I bet my 2013 model vehicle would look really out of place.

Just two - we were confused because they are showing 2 possibilities for one of the two vehicles of interest. moo
These are “vehicles of interest” based on cars seen on surveylance cameras in the area or the Closs home. It’s entirely possible one of the vehicles are completely unrelated to the case. Or both. . IMO this isn’t an indication there were multiple vehicles imvolved with the crime.

Thanks for the update as I missed it live. UGH, so these are not vehicles that were seen at the casino within an hour so of the timeframe? I'd hoped that maybe they captured her father on a security camera in an altercation with someone there, since they seemed to hone in on the casino immediately. Cars at the Jennie-O plant - there must be hundreds so I wonder why those seemed suspicious to them? Maybe not employee vehicles but somehow pinpointed as ones who didn't belong there? Doesn't sound very promising, does it...
