I've only looked at this case for a few hours, but it's a good one. Her sister is still fighting, hard, for answers.

Details of Disappearance​

Newberry was last seen at the Mellen Jam music festival on Gilgen Road in Mellen, Wisconsin on May 27, 2018. She went there with a male companion, who said they were camping together and were walking out from the remote campsite, with her trailing behind him, when she suddenly disappeared.

She was seen going down to a creek that evening. She never returned and has never been heard from again, and extensive searches turned up no indication of her whereabouts.

There has been no activity on Newberry's cellular phone, credit cards or social media accounts since she went missing. It's uncharacteristic of her to be out of touch with her family. Her sisted stated the man she was with changed his story several times after her disappearance.

Newberry has five children. The circumstances of her disappearance are unclear.

Had a naggin in the back of my head. Think it's here. There's so much more here, I think this is going to be my starting point. I'm going to compile for this one, i already have some stuff, but i might reach out to the sister again.


This is a case on the level that "Payne Lindsey" from "Up and Vanished", a "true crime podcast" that looks into "cold cases" of "missing persons". They have looked into the cases of "Tara Grinstead", "Kristal Resinger", "Ashley Loring HeavyRunner", and currently "Florence Okpealuk". I think this team could do some serious good.

She is not listed as excluded.

Jody’s family or insiders: 1) should we be looking into the companion who went with her? If so, we need a name. And 2) did you guys ever get a search party to search around the Mellen fest grounds? I know you said the sheriff wasn’t much help. But there’s some organizations that spearhead that kind of thing.

I'm putting together maps for hunters, to show them where missing people's remains or items might be while they are hunting there anyway. Looks like the Mellen Jam is held at 70511 Gilgen Rd, Mellen (Or High Bridge) Wisconsin. It's not clear who owns it. If anyone can tell if this is private or public property, I'd like to foreworn the hunters.

No problem. I got it for when I hunt. And now I had found out about this site from watching a missing person's case that was actually a murder on Netflix and I thought I'd check out the site they mentioned. Here I am trying to help in anyway I can.

So far the only exclusion for Jody is The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Her family is pretty convinced she’s deceased, after reading the missing fb page for her.

I looked at the fb page you referenced, @doodles1211 - I also found a curious post I forwarded to the sheriff. I can’t link it for obvious reasons, but if you go look again, he has a photo of a location and there’s comments on it.

I forwarded the picture and comments I found I mentioned above to the sheriff and was told he received them. Now we wait and see.
