John Edward Christoph was last seen by his family in Madison, Wisconsin on February 28th, 2002.

John is a white male, 5’8”-5’10”, and 160-250 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He had a full head of hair in 2002. He has scars on his chin and on the bridge of his forehead. The scar on his forehead has sometimes been described as a ‘crescent shaped.’

It is believed that John traveled to the west coast of the United States, specifically either California or Oregon. John is a U.S. Navy veteran and may have contacts with Veterans Affairs facilities.

John’s father passed away in 2012, and John’s family still did not hear from him. His current whereabouts are unknown. John was 50 years old when he went missing. He would be 70 years old today.

I cannot find any circumstances for him, no court records. I found an apartment (studio) where he lived. I can't find any non-organizations looking for him. No newspaper articles for him in newspapers.com or in the badger library system.

Charley project in part says this:
Christoph was last seen by his family in Madison, Wisconsin on February 28, 2002. He apparently traveled to Portland, Oregon afterwards. He may still be on the West Coast of the United States, specifically Oregon or California.

I'm not sure where this information came from that he DID go to Portland.

I did a deep dive and found his nine siblings. One died, 6 have Facebook accounts. Not a single repost of looking for John, no mention at all. Just a lot of political posts.
In their parents and the one sibling’s obit, he is listed but without a location. Nobody creating a find me page, no reward, no interviews in the paper. Why? Also didn’t come up in the ss death index. Not in unclaimed corpses or property for Oregon or California.
