Alright guys, I want to solve this so bad. I continuously search Kelly Nolan on here and <modsnip - not an approved source> to see if ANYONE has anything new to say. I do this at least 5 times a year. I want justice for her more than anything because her name doesn’t deserve to be forgotten.

Someone who lives on or has connections to Schneider drive knows something.

With little to zero information online other than old news links and LE/family speaking on anniversaries, pleading the public for answers …I gave up reaching out to Podcasts on her because they don’t seem to be interested.

I want to help her name get back out there but don’t know how to effectively go about that. If anyone has any ideas please share

Some interesting write-ups that potentially link Kelly's case to Diedre Harm's up in Wisconsin Rapids. Unfortunately, the suspect died by suicide back in 2009.

not sure if anyone is aware of this yet:

I searched him on ccap (wi circuit courts) and he had one underage possession of alcohol/under the influence in February 2007. However, mail was returned back to the courts because he moved from his 716 W Dayton st residence. So because of that, he still owes $105. <modsnip - not an approved source>

Let me know your thoughts as I have many questions still.

* Was Matthew Nilo, in fact, in Madison on the dates of June 22-23 2007?

US Search (link below) shows he lived in Madison and attended UW-Madison from Jan 1, 2006 - Dec 31, 2010

It also shows he lived at 515 University Ave, Apt P7, Madison, WI, 53703. I didn't read where any DNA was recovered from the Kelly Nolan crime scene.

Does anyone know - what the vehicle type and color was - that the last person seen with Kelly Nolan had walked her to? I remember the story said that a man walked her to a vehicle... curious about that vehicle where she was left with another person.

Do you have a source mentioning a vehicle? I have not heard anything about a vehicle or a description of one in this whole case. It would be VERY helpful if we did have that information though.

Kelly Nolan’s apartment in proximity

"Nolan stayed behind at State Street Brats, 603 State St. at 11:30 PM, Friday. At 2 AM Saturday, Nolan left the Lava Lounge, 461 W. Gilman, with a young man about 2 AM. That man told police he started walking Nolan back to her West Mifflin St. when the two ran into a second man who had also been at the Lava Lounge who claimed to know Nolan and offered to escort her home. I assume that was somewhere near the 500 block of State St? That was the last time she was seen alive. Police have never identified either man as a suspect or person of interest in the case. " (Wisconsin State Journal Madison, Wisconsin · Sunday, January 20, 2008) The first man was an employee, who identified himself only as Andrew, a worker at Amy's Cafe on Gilman St. (Amy's Cafe, 414 W Gilman St, is between the Lava Lounge and the 500 block of W. Gilman St. where Nolan was allegedly last seen) When he learned Nolan was missing, he contacted police. (Wisconsin State Journal 08 Jul 2007, Sun · Page 14)

Could the fact that he worked at Amy's Cafe have influenced their decision to walk that way to her apartment instead of the shorter route down University Ave and N. Bassett St.? Nolan's sister, April, stated that Kelly told her where she was at later that early Saturday morning, also around 2 AM. She was advised by police not to reveal that information, IMO.

So, where did the second man part ways with Nolan that night and why didn't he continue walking her home?

Since Nolan had just moved to Madison and the man said he knew Nolan (otherwise she wouldn't have went with him), she could only have known him from her places of employment, the Orpheum Lobby Restaurant, her hometown of Waunakee, or he was a fellow student from UW-Whitewater, IMO. There's also a possibility it was someone from the Ambassador West apartment building at 434 W. Mifflin St. where she had moved to on May 18, 2007.

There also must be some link between the suspect and the Eleanor Killerlain property on Schneider Road in the Town of Dunn where she was found. It wasn't just a random spot that the killer selected.

It's been 16 years. Time to release more information.

I don’t agree Kelly had to have known the man. He may have said so, but depending on her level of intoxication she may have not really had a say in who she was going with. Yes she may have known him but he could also have been a stranger.

I’m with you on this as well. I also have been looking into how Matthew Nilo interacted with his rape victims and it gives me moments of pause relating it to Kelly Nolan.

“Originally from Boston, Nilo is charged with three counts of aggravated rape, two counts of kidnapping and single counts of assault with attempt to rape and indecent assault and battery in connection with the assaults in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood in 2007 and 2008.

During the early morning hours of Aug. 18, 2007, a 23-year-old victim was looking for her car after a night out with friends in the area of State Street when she was approached by a man in his 20s, Assistant District Attorney Lynn Feigenbaum said in reading from court documents.
After the assault, the victim sought help from a passerby and she was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent a sexual evidence collection exam. Male DNA obtained during the test was entered into a national database.

Months later, on Nov. 22, 2007, a 23-year-old woman left a bar on State Street after attending her high school reunion and entered a vehicle that she thought was a taxi cab. She also described the driver as a man in his 20s.

This victim was also taken to a local hospital, where she underwent a sexual evidence collection exam. Male DNA obtained during the test was again entered into a national database.”

Beautiful!!! Thank you for making that map as it has been SO needed and so helpful in understanding the layout of the night ! I should add what the map looks like after leaving downtown Madison, jumping on park st and heading straight to Schneider Dr.

Right away, I will agree with you on your thoughts about Schneider drive and how Kelly’s killer is connected or related to that road. You couldn’t convince me otherwise.

There are actually two different routes the killer may have taken; Park (blue) or MM (gray)

Her body was found about 15 feet off the road. Does anyone know the exact location on the 28 acre Killerlain property?

So, Andrew, the employee of Amy's Cafe, and Kelly left the Lava Lounge at bar-time (2:30 AM), they walked up Gilman Street, past the cafe where Andrew was employed, to the 500 block of State Street. Andrew then left Kelly with a man who had also been at the Lava Lounge who said he knew Kelly. He said he's walk Kelly home. Also, according to the news article, Kelly remained in the Downtown area for about an hour, which would make it around 3:30 AM that she was last seen.

That’s the exact location

Thank you. I didn't realize the location of the body was only 15 feet from the road. I assume, then, the killer(s) dragged/carried her into the woods, dead or alive.

IMO, one would assume that the vehicle was parked on that side of the road, facing west. That could mean they were possibly coming from a location east of the site, which is why they were in that area in the first place. It's also possible she was held at that unknown location for a period of time up to 17 days. Presumeably alive since I couldn't picture someone moving a decomposing body after several weeks. All speculation, of course.

Madison1905, I just found out about this case from your post about her on the Matthew Nilo page. I was confused about her being found in Oregon, but then realized that is a city in Wisconsin. I think you are very right about him being a suspect, great job!!
