Phillip R. Malchow

Phillip R. Malchow was last seen May 6, 1963 in Black River Falls. He was 47 years old when he went missing, and he would now be 103 years old. He had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. There is very little information on Phillip or his disappearance, and there isn't even a photo. Despite limited information, and how long Phillip has been missing, law enforcement is still trying to find the answers about what happened to Phillip and they entered his case into the NamUs database August 2014.

NamUS Circumstance Information:

Phillip Malchow. 48. of Black River
Falls has apparently disappeared
and some mystery surrounds the circumstances. He is the son of Carl
Malchow of Black River Falls and
his father is considerably disturbed
by Phillip's disappearance.
On Monday aftenoom. May 6 he
attended the funeral for Mrs Harold
Smith at the Iainglois Galstnn Funeral
Home and later toward evening
Theodore "Tip” Johnson talked with
Malchow down on the island beneath
the Black River bridge. In that conversation
Malchow indicated he was
thinking of "trying” the channel to
see how swift the current was. Mr.
Johnson is inclined to think Mr.
Malchow may have drowned
There have been reports Malchow
has been seen at the nearby Indian
Mission exit Sheriff Julian Larkin
said no one has been positive about
it and the speculation is if he went
there at all he would not remain
there this Itength of time.
Another report has been he was
seen at Hank's Tavern in downtown
Black River Falls. The tavern own
er. Mrs Lillie Haugen said Malchow
has not been in her place.
