It is a longshot, but very interesting. I would think that LE should at least look into it.

FYI...

The Racine Journal-Times featured this case on its front page yesterday (8/8/2011):

http://www.journaltimes.com/news/local/article_e0907cae-c1b5-11e0-8e1d-001cc4c03286.html

In the print edition, the story and photos filled almost all of the front page and spilled over to another. There's not really any info in the article that's new to those of us who have been following the case but it's great to see it given so much attention, especially if someone who has some information sees it for the first time.

I've been to her grave, which is only a couple of miles away from me, and I really hope that someday we can put her name rather than 'Jane Doe' on her stone.

Have thier been other cases somewhat recent that have happen in racine i don;t know why but i get the feeling something else has happen in this place racine..

Racine does make the news fairly often for all different kinds of stories, from tornadoes and blizzards to politics and the economy and everything in-between.

There was another 'Jane Doe' in Racine County in 1997, who was eventually identified as a runaway from IL (named Amber Creek) but whose killer hasn't been found, as far as I know. And we did have an unidentified drowning victim (Lake Michigan) a couple weeks ago, but she's been identified. If you've followed the case of Timmothy Fry-Pitzen in the 'Missing' forum, Racine came up because he and his mother stopped in Racine and made some purchases here before going on to the Dells. Or if you read the thread about (Ame Deal) in the 'Crimes In the News' forum, her parents lived here for a while before moving to the southwest and Racine was mentioned in some of the news articles.

Geez, Racine does keep popping up here and there.

Other than those mentions, I don't know of any other recent or similar cases.

Interestingly enough, Amber Creek and Racine Jane Doe are both buried in the same cemetery. Amber was still unidentified when she was buried there, but her stone now has her real name and birth month/year on it.

I didn't either. Was the possible from AZ ever submitted?

The article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette is a shortened version of the article that was in the Racine Journal-Times a couple weeks ago. The latter has more details, although I think it's all info that those who have been following this thread already know. Still a good article, and it was good to see it on the front page in the local paper.

Sorry, I linked to the wrong article. This one mentions the potential match:

http://journaltimes.com/news/local/...cle_e0907cae-c1b5-11e0-8e1d-001cc4c03286.html

A woman had given her child up for adoption and the child, now a teenager, went missing from her adoptive parents home in another state. Then DNA ruled out that Jane Doe was the daughter.

...I thought this might be a reference to the potential match with Aundria Bowman, but now I see she disappeared from a group home, not from her adoptive parents. Sorry, my bad.

That was a reference to Aundria. Aundria's adoptive parents told investigators that after leaving the group home, she returned to their home and stole $100 from them before leaving never to be seen again.

This is a real ong shot but if Racine Doe was held for 10 years it could be.

Doreen Vincent went missing from Connecticut in 1988. Police do suspect her father in her case, but she had ran away before. The age progressed photo to me just looked like Racine.Just thought I would throw that out there and see what ya'll think. Is there a rule out list for Racine Doe?

I know that Doreen was submitted as a possible to the investigating LE, but I don't remember if we ever heard back about her. I saw a lot of similarities with her. I'll do a quick search on this thread and see if she was ruled out.

Edited to add: From searching this thread it looks like Doreen Vincent was submitted to LE back in 2008, but I don't see a post that says she was ruled out. I would guess that she's been eliminated after this long, but I don't know.

I should have done a thread search.I did a site search and only found 1 post from 2008. Thanks a lot I'm still learning lol.

Lord, this case just haunts me.

Reading all of the details (again!), it just occurs to me now how odd it seems that she was clothed. Considering the horrific level of torture and abuse she suffered and the fact that she was thrown away in a cornfield, it just seems so unlikely that her murderer(s) went to the trouble of clothing her. I think there's something to that.

Just thinking out loud...

Lately, I've been wondering if this Jane Doe and/or her killer are somehow connected to the 'Country Thunder' country music weekend event, which is held on a July weekend each year in Twin Lakes, WI (in Kenosha County, which borders Racine County). In 1999, the festival was held on July 15-18. Racine Jane Doe was found early on the morning of Wednesday, July 21st.

One reason I think that there could be a connection is because of the older country-western shirt she was wearing. Surely someone who was into country music in a big enough way to go to something like Country Thunder might have held on to something like that for quite a few years? Plus, that festival attracts people from all over.

Just my latest thought.

To muddy the waters a little bit further....

She is the right age, and height. She is a dead ringer for Crystal in better days.... but she is from France. Take a look anyway and tell me what you think.

Karine looks like a good match. Was this ever submitted? I know Karine's profile states that her eyes are blue, and that LE has determined that Jane Doe's eyes were NOT blue, but Karine's eyes look dark in the photos to me. It is definitely possible that she was abducted or lured by someone who trafficked her into America through Canada, things went wrong and the perpetrators murdered her. :( this poor girl

I remember looking at that suggestion when it was first posted, but I don't think they resemble each other much. The nose is very different, the eye color is wrong, and the face shape doesn't look right.

I don't know if this article has been posted on this thread yet:

The article is from about a week after she was found in 1999, and some of the details in it have changed. But tonight I saw for the first time the sketch of her that was made at the time:

Wow - this sketch looks quite different from the later version. And based on the reports, it's questionable whether either is really close.

That's what I thought when I saw the old sketch, too. Now I'm not sure I know what she even really looked like. That makes her clothing and any other clues all that more important, IMO.
