Human remains found in Chippewa Co. may be missing Reedsburg woman
The 26-year-old was reported missing by her ex-husband on July 21.

NBC15 spoke with Rodriguez’s former coworkers at Sprecher’s and found that she had worked as a pantry cook for about two weeks before she disappeared.

Rodriguez had also worked at the Wilderness Resort, according to another former coworker, and was believed to have returned to her home country of Peru.

Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the remains were of 25-year-old Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez of Reedsburg.

Investigators said they have identified a person of interest, but were not more specific. Kowalczyk said there is no danger to the public in western Wisconsin, saying the suspect was last seen in southern states.

Rodriguez, a native of Peru, had been working in the Wisconsin Dells area, Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said in a statement Monday.

I was born and raised near the Wisconsin Dells & Lake Delton, and many, many, many people from other countries come there to work in the summers. Every waterpark and restaurant is almost exclusively staffed by them as lifeguards / waiter & waitresses.

Missing Reedsburg woman's remains found in Chippewa County

“While her remains were found in Chippewa County Sheriff Office jurisdiction, we are certainly willing and wanting to take part in the investigation any way we can to be of assistance along the way to help solve the incident,” Reedsburg Police Chief Patrick Cummings said. He did not comment if the person of interest is from the Reedsburg or Sauk County area.
