I said yes just because that's my birthday and it would be a fab present :-]

What does JB gain if he keeps delaying the trial? Does he hope people will forget about the senseless murder of Caylee at the hands of her monster mother? Never!
If anything he should want it quick, so that more damming evidence isn't found.

It seems as weeks and months go by, more is piled on to the already massive amount of evidence.

As long as JB continues to file useless motions instead of preparing a legitimate defense (if there is one) for his client, there is no way he'll be ready to proceed in October. I say mid 2010.

I voted yes! But, what do I know? Nothing, this is the first case I have ever followed from the very beginning. My hope is that Strickland will not allow JB to drag his feet and that casey's trial will at least start in 2009.

Hey, a girl can hope, right?

I voted no--------If JB is to make money off a movie or a book rights, then he has to make this as dramatic as possible for a good sell- He will probably make as much havoc as he can get away with......

There is no way this trial will start in Oct...imo. The last case JB had, Nilton Diaz, Lake County, FL, took more than 2 years to start. It was scheduled several times and JB had it postponed. In fact, more than a year had passed and he still had not completed the depos!

He also put Diaz on the stand to testify.....big mistake there...imo

You can see here:

(It takes a while to load....that's how long it is). (This link is offline at night for backup)

He would have continued to drag it out if the Judge had allowed it. A new Judge was assigned and he was not amused.... imo

No way it starts on time. This dream team will need a lot longer to concoct a defense.

I voted no because like the rest of you, I think that JB will hold things up.

If he does hold it up pushing the trial many times I think he should have to pay a fee per day for each day that he is not using the court room that the case was to be held in. This outta motivate them to stay on task.

No way. Trials rarely go as scheduled. I predict one if not more requests for continuances from the defense.

Today I heard the trial could possibly be pushed back even TWO years. I'm so confused as to why it would take this long. If the defense is so confident in the fact that KC is innocent and she will be acquittted what could possibly take 900+ days to do?

The way things have been going since KC was arrested, I say no.

Prosecution team appears ready, but not the Defense team.

I'm just waiting for the next "bombshell" news. So far we've had GA's attempt at suicide, JB stalling the case with all his filings over everything under the sun, and we're still waiting for the depo's of GA & CA....what else? Seems like the case is still in it's infancy. Doubt it will happen in October. However long it takes to go to trial...I want to see justice for Caylee.

I also voted no. This is not a simple case. There will be continuances. I think the date was set to light a fire under JB. He's been limping along and gathering a herd of other lawyers and experts. He has a ton of depositions to do as well. I can't see the trial beginning until 2010.

Now this is a good news/bad news situation.

The good news is that that, unless Judge Rodriguez puts off the civil case, George and Cindy will have to give depositions. There is more time for the A family to do some more very stupid stuff and more time for JB to goof up.

The bad news is that we have to wait!

Do you think the longer a trial is pushed back the better it is for the defendant? Like does it work to their advantage?

I am hoping they will not delay the trail because I want to see her convicted and go to prison where she needs to be. Right now she is in a private jail cell and acting like she is miss smarty pants or something.
I want to see her punished for what she did to little Caylee. She is a cruel and evil person who will get whats coming to her, either prison for life or the death pentality.

I just heard the defense wants to move the trial to Miami. Is it wrong to think that has something to do with the largely Hispanic population and the fact that JB is thinking this might work to his advantage (being Hispanic himself)? I think he stated before that it is hard for him being a Hispanic attorney so when I heard he wanted to move it to Miami that idea just automatically came to mind.

I voted no because I believe that Baez will stall it as long as he can. He also wants to wait until the last minute to go forth with his motion for change of venue.

I further believe that Baez wants to stall as long as he can because he knows that Casey is much more comfortable in the jail than in prison and he does know shes going to prison. It is a whole new ballgame there. Casey is readily available for him where she is now and he can spend many, many hours with her. JMO.
