Whatever it takes so there are no appellate issues!

You know there will still be appeals but that doesn't mean she will win them...

May she rot in prison...

I hate when the defending attorney weeps..
What a show...a performance. I am glad jury seen through it and gave her what she deserved...

Shame on him for that performance that's taking it a little far...

Where are the mothers tears for the child she abused and killed.??

Community members say justice was done in Lunsford verdicts

People in Lewis County Monday were satisfied with the Lena Lunsford Conaway verdicts — guilty on all four felony counts involving the murder of her 3-year-old daughter — and believed that justice has been served.

Conaway was convicted of murder of a child by parent by failure to provide necessities, which carries a life sentence; death of a child by parent by child abuse.

.....
Brandi Nesbitt of Buckhannon was heavily involved in the search for Aliayah Lunsford, Conaway’s 3-year-old daughter.

“Those with the family are so thankful we have finally gotten justice for Aliayah. Those girls (the sisters who testified) are heroes for what they did for their sister,” Nesbitt said. “We’ve been waiting seven long years for this. We had to wait for the timing to be right.”

May this be the future for the other child killers out there right now. Look out their coming for you too.

You didn't get away with it just because they didn't find a body..

I've been catching up as fast as I can on the Case Archive.

Instead of trying to look up every website, go here. This is the Case Archive- "Justice for Aliayah" section.

This site is free (except for me) and I do not make money from it. (just saying that because I was asked)

Thanks for all you keep track of Amanda! You have followed this case and many others from the beginning!

So glad that the jury declined to give her the opportunity for parole. Lena doesn’t deserve it.

Now tell us where Aliayah is, please! You have nothing left to lose.

Haven't identified the issues for an appeal. Search high and low, but I doubt you'll find any issues for an appeal. I doubt there will be an appeal, not only is it very expensive, but who would be willing to do the work on it, when defendant's daughters testified against her?

:boohoo:

Lots of people are abused as children and don't end up murdering their kid. I'm quite certain she was given opportunities for treatment, she just didn't want to put the work into recovery.

Def attny Tom Dyer: Mercy from jury would give Lena Lunsford's teen daughters — who testified against her — a chance to forgive her at future parole hearings, while life sentence prevents that possibility.

Riiiight, someone give that defense attorney the definition of forgiveness. Her daughters can forgive her and still choose to never have contact again.

Perhaps Lena should have offered up Aliayah's remains in exchange for mercy.

A bit late to the show and thank-you for posting my feelings about those daughters.

It also struck me that we have forgotten that Aliyah was the child who Lena treated the worst. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the other children she raised were also mistreated. I'm sure they still remember what she did to them as well as their deceased sister.

The only children not subjected to her abuse were the twins, who she never had the chance to abuse. They were taken from her at birth while in jail.

Forgiveness is a tough thing to give a person. If at all, it can take years and years. IMHO, forgiveness means that you say "I forgive you" as a way to forever put that person out of your mind and move forward with a well-lived life unfettered by the hate you feel towards the person. Forgiveness does not mean you have to establish a connection with the person.

Something i have not seen addressed, may have missed it...

Thank God for the adoptive parents who took in Aliayah's siblings. If not for the supportive and loving care that the Cole's gave them, the girls may never have come forward.

Many heroes in that family.

I just logged in to see the headline with the lovely *GUILTY*

I have to admit, I squealed with delight. Heck ya! May she never see the outside of a prison for as long as she lives.
