Princeton, WV (WOAY) – The Princeton Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old juvenile.

Kierra Jackson was last seen at her Princeton residence on December 3rd, 2022.

Family and friends last saw her wearing white sweatpants, a black hoodie with pink UA letters, and black Crocs.

Her family and friends are concerned for her well-being.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact the Princeton Police Department at 304-487-5000.

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) - UPDATE 10:30 a.m. Fri.--The Princeton Police Dept. released a statement to WVVA saying “with a heavy heart and much sadness we have to report that the missing 14-year-old female, Kierra Jackson, has been found deceased. Although we have her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time, I am unable to make to make any further comments due to this being an active and ongoing investigation,” said Chief T.A. Gray with Princeton PD.

(9:00 p.m. Dec. 8) The AWARE Foundation, Inc. has confirmed with WVVA that Kierra Jackson was found deceased.

They released a statement to WVVA saying: “It is with a heavy heart we must report that Kierra Jackson was found deceased this (Thursday) evening.”

This is a developing story and WVVA will update you as we learn more.

2 Dec - the day before KJ was reported missing her mother’s boyfriend R. N. was arrested for domestic battery. The police report says N. had hit Jackson and punched her mother, S. M. in the face.

3 Dec - N. was bailed out on the domestic battery charge [snip] the same day KJ was reported missing.

8 Dec - [Snip] ...her body was found in the same home where the fight had taken place.

1:13 am ...at least six shots were fired at the house with two of them going through a window and into the home.

Protests in support of Kierra Jackson have broken off from the Mercer County Courthouse to the area of the 1000 Block of Bluefield Ave. Those on the scene say that though there was confrontation with police it was a peaceful protest.

Is anyone still living in Kierra's home? Have police been there to investigate the crime scene, take photos, gather evidence? We see where they've been gathering evidence relating to the gun shots fired at the house after the protests for police inaction, but were they gathering evidence before that, after Kierra's body was found?

Very disappointing, if LE hasn't done so. Has the state attorney general looked into the case? I hope they can get nationwide media coverage, though there's so many other crimes being investigated now.

Princeton PD has placed officers outside of the home since the shooting. My assumptions are that 1) people still live in the home and/or 2) they're securing the home to preserve evidence. I tend to think assumption #1 is most likely considering I don't see any police tape surrounding the home. Police vehicles can be seen parked outside the home @1:38 in the video at the link below. Yes, its hard for us to tell what's going on. I wonder if anyone locally can tell us whether police appear to have searched the home/crime scene for evidence. Her body was found Dec. 8. If they haven't searched the crime scene yet and the family is still living there, it could be a problem.

The whole situation is sad, especially so if LE is not pursuing this as a crime. Hope they are.
