Here's a bit of information on Sr.'s appeal:

If the interstitial "J" in Jr's name stands for "Jerome", he's also listed on the sex offender registry in Tennessee, with a birthdate in 1958.

ETA: If you don't get a result below (I suspect you won't - court systems are like that), return to search page, and enter case number J881756:

Thereafter, you should also find additional results under the following:

J871754
J871755
J871757

The latter result also contains the following slug:

11/01/2013 File Preliminary Purge

The Judge who authorized the purge is Randolph Lee Garrison of the Douglas County Court system.
I don't know where to start with this. But wanted to thank you for putting this out on the web. I was born and raised in the Roseburg, Oregon area. My Mom sent my older brother to "Cowboy Chip's Kindergarten" as she called it. (Cowboy Chip was another name for Edward Jerome Gallup, Jr. He wore a cowboy hat and was the "teacher" at this kindergarten/childcare center in Winston, OR) The center was located just a short walk from my Grandparents house which was on Grape Street. (Actual address of center: 200 Suksdorf St. I believe it's now apartments.)

My twin brother and I also attended there because our birthdays required that we couldn't start grade school. So we had to endure the nightmare of "Cowboy Chip's."

I don't want to go into detail. I do know that Cowboy Chip's Dad and Mom and other individuals were at this center on occasion. There is also a very vivid memory when we went to their family ranch to "ride horses".

For years I only had the name "Cowboy Chip" to go on. A few years back I came across websites and online information here and other places that helped me put a real name to the persons involved.

I also know that Cowboy Chip is living out his life in Tennessee. I wonder how many people's lives were affected in places which he has moved?

I have tried to get articles about this from the local paper, The News Review, but they directed me to microfilm at the public library in Roseburg. Living in another state, I don't have access to those archives.

I just wonder why there hasn't been a follow up story to this case locally? How many lives have been affected by these sick individuals? The ripple effect of abuse can be widespread. (When trauma isn't properly processed then we medicate in different ways.) I also find it interesting as a teen that Judge Laswell tried me in court for crimes. I had no clue that he had tried our abusers. I wonder how many kids that were abused by the Gallups appeared in Laswell's court through the years? I'm not blaming my delinquent years on anybody but myself, but there were trigger events that would happen and intense anger was the result. Many memories were buried but later resurfaced.

I have been digging into this case as much as I can but there hasn't really been a lot to go on. Thank you for looking into this. Any further information that you find as sleuths would be helpful.

I have been researching this case, and have requested the court records. Yes, there are also other kids who did not come forward at the time. I'm trying to get in touch with them to see if they'll share their stories.

My twin brother and I attended this daycare. My older brother attended before we did. We are trying to gather more information. I did gather that Edward Jerome Gallup, Jr. is living in TN. He is on the sex offender database there. Any information about this would be much appreciated.

Edit: Laswell was the prosecuting attorney of the Gallup Case, not the judge. Just wanted to clarify that. I had misread the info on this case and thought he was the judge, not the prosecuting attorney.

I realized I was looking at the wrong address. The daycare was off of Suksdorf. Even though part of it faces Darrell Ave, it's apartments that are 181, 183, 185, 187, Baker St. The main entrance is what is now labeled 187 Baker St and can be seen on Google Street View.

Hi. My name is Ali. I went to the Winston branch when I was a teeny tiny toddler. I don’t remember much, but the defense did use me as witness. During nap time I was kept in a separate room away from ANYONE ELSE, and developed a debilitating fear of the dark. I had no memory or advise at the time, not do I not, other than being locked away. I started this journey of knowledge after a long time of therapy. I’m out here too just try to get more details.
Hi Ali, I’m so sorry you were enrolled there. I was as well. If you want to chat let me know.
