Yes, almost everything is green year-round. We have a few trees that lose leaves when it gets cold, but they're vastly outnumbered by those that don't. At least here in SoFla, including North Port. Up in the panhandle, they probably have more bare trees in the winter. Also, even trees that do lose leaves in cold weather aren't losing them yet. It's nowhere close to "fall weather" here.
I live in the middle of the state, I agree with the bushes. They usually don’t die, I had to cover my bushes a few times last year but it wasn’t bad. My grasssssss tho.. ugh. Took me forever to get it filled in and green this year.

Yup, it's going to be ninety degrees today, and for the next ten days, high eighties to ninety degrees. It is still freakin' hot and is going to stay hot for a while. Really not fun weather to be stuck in a swamp somewhere for weeks with no way to take a shower, in my opinion.

IMO the officers who pulled them over made a judgement call and decided to separate them rather than arrest either of them based on the information they had. All indications were that GB was the aggressor. Even the witness said he could not tell exactly what was going on and that at one point, it looked like they were laughing but GP seemed to get upset once he was in the van. We can all speculate about ownership of the van, etc, but they were on this trip together. I think the officers were doing there best not to have either of them wind up with a record for DV for what may have been a stress driven incident. Ultimately I believe there are some people who have faced charges for things that may not be in character for them that wish they had been pulled over by those officers, rather than scared for life with a record. Hind site is 20/20. In no way am I trying to indicate that some DV is acceptable, but had they followed the letter of the law, all indications are that they would have arrested GP and not BL. Is it only because we know of the eventual tragedy, do we think BL should have been arrested?

Regarding the police reports for Sept 10 and Sept 11 at the Laundrie house...

I can't help but think the calls and texts from Gabby's parents triggered an argument or fight at the Laundrie house--one bad enough to result in a call to 911.
All MOO

Snipped and BBM. - OR it is possible he threatened them with suicide, they called 911 and then were able to talk him down. Then, he disappeared and they're worried he "hurt himself". MOO

Good morning! I've watched the old copcam video, I've watched the new copcam video. Could some one give the time marker on the new video where Gabby says that Brian hit her? I'm having a hard time finding her say that. Maybe what she described as him grabbing her face is what's considered a hit? That could be my confusion, but she also said that on the old copcam so I'm thinking there's something I missed on the new one.

Technically, yes, he should have been arrested. The witness was concerned about GP's s safety and welfare. BUT, in hindsight, it's only slightly better that he wasn't arrested, because after Gabby paid his court costs, or whatever, he would have blamed her and killed her sooner than he did. We would have read about her demise on August 13, or shortly thereafter. But maybe he would have been caught. jmo

Her being arrested may have saved her life though. I don’t know any of her parents but if my daughter (gabby specifically) called me from jail saying momma I was arrested for domestic violence, I’d think there was a HUGE problem and I’d be on the next plane to wherever she was and bring her home and away from Brian.

Agree 100%. I think they made the best decision given the information that they had. Gabby had very fair skin and with her arms, legs and so much of skin exposed, she didn't seem to have large bruises or anything else to indicate that she'd been a victim of DA. I feel sorry for Police Officers these days. If we crucify them for each and every decision it's a job noone will want to have.

Wow, Brian does seem like such a little punk though. I'm sure this situation only added more stress to the already stressful situation of living out of a van with little money.

I still think he's not around Florida. He spent his life as a New Yorker and just followed Mommy and Daddy down to the Sunshine state a couple years ago. I think he'd go somewhere he felt more comfortable.

There were posts last night questioning if the registration was checked on the van during the Moab stop. It must have been, because the police report lists the van owner as Gabrielle Petito.
https://www.scribd.com/document/525514584/Petito-Redacted

I wondered this after watching the new body cam footage. The officer asks BL if he would be “ok” with Gabby taking the van for the night. IMO it wasn’t up to BL because it was HER van. Just thought that was odd in the stop.

There is no speculation to be had about ownership of the van. It legally belonged to Gabby, as has been cited here many, many times.

I agree. I'm just saying it's a mute point. I have not seen any evidence to suggest that for all intents and purposes, it was not shared property. Listen, I want to hate BL as much as anyone, considering the outcome. I'm just saying that emotions often guide our responses to things that would otherwise be viewed much differently. I am completely in support of law enforcement and understand how hard their job is. I just hate to see them being bashed when I think had we all saw the videos and heard the witness having not known what we all know now, our view may be different. Also, I think, if we get hung up on the stop, we stop considering other possibilities of what may have transpired later.

Geezoo, this is unbelievable! What in the world would make a parent think this is the route to take when their child is in deep trouble! Even if he does escape to another country, they’ll never see him again, and what kind of life will he have being alone and constantly on the run!
Most parents love their kids and will do anything to help them to achieve a happy and productive life, but this is definitely not the way to go. IMO

Barging in the middle here to bring something back up. Just scroll if bored with it.

My opinion for Brian flying home to do whatever on the 17th of August is so that his parents “could lay eyes on him”. I most definitely think the parents knew their son well enough that they saw tell-tale signs of meltdown. By the time he got home, all is calm until the rage starts again. Did he abuse before? Again IMO

Good morning people. Are you ready for today? Coffee going? Wake up. It’s Friday. All day long.. High fives to ourselves for getting through this rollercoaster week. I survived on caffeine, curiosity, willpower, denial of chores, and a little inappropriate humor. You? May today be the Fridayest Friday that ever Fridayed. And for the eleventy billionth time: Where is Brian Laundrie?

I think I posted one of these links yesterday so apologies for repost. Good stuff in there…the others chosen for relatability. This first one I find interesting to support why we are all here at Websleuths trying to help, learn and grow.

I am not aware of Gabby ever saying that BL hit her. Gabby said he grabbed her face. I get the impression he grabbed her by the chin/jawline (in such a way as to make a person hold still or look at something).

It was one of the witnesses that said he slapped her.

AFAIK
