I am kind of facepalming that I had not thought about this before. If it is true that he ditched his old phone and purchased a new phone on September 4, he may have had a different number…unless he just ditched the device. IF the idea were to communicate with less chance of surveillance, it wouldn’t make sense to just buy a new device but keep the same number IMO
In addition, just ditching a device is not going to destroy an electronic trail. Theoretically, one could get a new line, and new device, and set up an entire new account to attempt to disassociate with the old one, but much of the activity from that phone would be recoverable, even in the absence of that specific device. MOOing

Mr. Bertolino was referring to his discussion with the FBI agents on the 13th about Brian's absence as a "report" ....until last night, when he was boxed into calling it a "mention" and a "by the way."

And alternative uses for the word "grieving" were being offered by various media outlets (nevermind this board) all afternoon yesterday. The excuse that he could have overused the term "grieving" in reference to the Laundrie parents and thus mis-used it inadvertently to refer to Brian's state of mind back on the 13th) was spoon-fed to Mr. Bertolino yesterday.

( we went through the ' I told the FBI he hadn't returned home on night 13th' claim/comment so many times over the last 3 or so threads cause @BCSleuth found the *old* media reports from * mid Sept* which showed a match, a few days ago)

Yes, I heard Ashleigh's after-comments. If she wants to help him with this his explanation for why he chose the word "grieving" I'm fine with her doing that. I just don't agree with her; I think it was a Freudian slip.

Adding this to the discussion about his parents not filing a missing persons report.

Possible reasons they didn't file one:

1) They knew he was a fugitive and that fugitives are wanted and not classified as missing persons- in the event Brian told them anything or that they suspected he was the reason Gabby didn't come home.
2) They just suspected he went on another trip- he did just get back from traveling all summer. Was it ever discussed if he frequently kept in contact with his family? (Sorry there is A LOT of threads!)
3) They knew that he wasn't actually missing- others have mentioned before how their behaviors were 'strange' after he was gone.

Watching the bertolino and banfield interview. SB states that the FBI confirmed that the day SB revealed to them that BL did not return home from hike was Thursday ( 9/16, added by me) This is approx 17:50 in video. But then SB says that he said “Brian didn’t come home tonight”. Well which is it?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I just read the FBI Denver report confirming the remains are those of BL and, apparently, they found his remains in two different locations. The T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. Is that correct?

LE & media have been using the two park names interchangeably and/or together throughout the investigation, to much confusion.

Even from the first day of searching there, they've been sort of defaulting to calling it the Carlton Reserve, even when they're in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park (as you can see from Brian Entin's Sep 18 video, where the street sign at the end clearly shows that they're on the Myakkahatchee/North Port side, where the Mustang was found)

There's a pdf map from City of North Port here, and comparing it with the Google Map, it does seem like BL would have started out in the Myakkahatchee Creek Park and then crossed over into Carlton Reserve via the bridge on the top part of the map, so whenever they were "on the North Port side" they were probably searching both.

Has a question been asked of the LE about the period of time where they said they knew where Brian was? I would like to see them explain that--maybe say where they thought he was when they stated that so unequivocally. I know they have been interviewed a lot recently. Was that ever asked?

IDK what the police consider “moving,” but they both had FL licenses, and spending even a couple of weeks with family before heading out on a trip doesn’t seem like “moving” to me.

Okay, so my favorite mental image of the day is BE’s story from last night about finding the cameras. Apparently, he was poking around in the yard of the neighbors behind the Laundrie house, and came upon the camera live-streaming back to LE. LE called the neighbor, who then had to tell BE to get away from the camera!
