Who is Brian Laundrie's older sister, Cassie Luycx? | Fox News
[...]

New attention shifted to Luycx on Friday after her family's attorney, Steven Bertolino, revealed that the elder sibling saw Laundrie at a campground on Sept. 6 with their parents, as well as on Sept. 1, when he returned home to North Port without Petito.

[...]

After Petito's remains were found in Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest on Sept. 19, Luycx released a statement with her condolences.

"Right now my husband and I would like to express our condolences and prayers to the Petito family," she said in a statement on Sept. 20, according to WPBF. "Gabby was a fun and loving influence to 'the boys' as she always referred to them. We will cherish all the time spent with her."

[...]

Luycx is originally from Bayport on Long Island, the same town where Laundrie went to high school. She now lives with her husband, 32-year-old James "Jimmy" Luycx, in Lakewood Ranch, which is about 40 miles north of North Port.

The couple got married in December 2015 at a ceremony in which Laundrie served as the witness, according to Sarasota County records.

Her husband is originally from Guatemala, and the couple lived in West Grove, Pennsylvania, before Florida.

Brian Laundrie manhunt: Dog the Bounty Hunter says keep tips coming in case that's touched millions | Fox News
[...]

They’re working long days – from sun-up to sundown – sniffing out tips, fact-checking rumors and physically in the field with volunteer search teams looking for clues of Laundrie’s movements. Earlier this week, Chapman and a private K-9 unit searched a pair of islands off of Fort De Soto, where Laundrie may have hidden out.

[...]

Despite the hoopla surrounding the case – Chapman has a long record of successful captures. And he says he holds the record of most arrests with 8,000.

With help from secret sources and tips from the public, the bounty hunter turned up two key leads that led to major developments in the case.

[...]

Chapman has said he aims to capture Laundrie alive – but he’s also in touch with the FBI.

And he’s asking for the public to continue sharing any possible leads in the case, which have been helpful so far.

"Please everyone keep your eyes open, and thank you for providing all the leads we’re getting," he said Saturday morning. "Aloha."

K9 search expert: Promising clues emerge in hunt for Brian Laundrie
[...]

“We did find some campsites, we did find some evidence of kayaks near the campsites so it is possible that Brian’s out there,” Hadsell said.

The K9 team had to rely on its experience of nearly 200 search and rescue missions because the Laundrie family did not supply anything with Brian’s scent on it, Hadsell said.

“The parents as you know are being uncooperative, so we don’t have any sent articles or anything from Brian to be able to use it as a target odor for our dogs to work on,” Hadsell said. “So, we do what we call, ‘general human scent.’

The dogs are trained to work on water from a boat, he explained.

“And we can circle these smaller islands, if there is any human odor being produced from the island, the dogs will alert, and then we’ll send teams to go check it out.”

Gabby Petito’s family reached out to police in North Port, Florida, one day before she was officially reported missing, according to WFLA-TV.

The television station obtained records from the police department showing that Petito’s family made the inquiry on September 10.

The records show that the family was told they needed to file the missing person’s report where Petito was last known to be located, which was required under the departmental policy and state law in Florida, according to the television station.

The calls were coded as “public service” calls, with one call occurring shortly before 4 p.m. local time and the other call around 6:30 p.m., according to Fox News, which also obtained the call logs.

The records do not specify whether both calls were from Petito’s family, but both were given the description of “problem settled,” Fox News reports.

One day later, on September 11, Petito’s family filed a missing person’s report in Suffolk County, New York, where her family lives.

Brian Laundrie's parents have 'behaved strangely' and cops may use GPS to track movements of their cars, expert claims (the-sun.com)
[...]

Jennifer Shen, a former director of the San Diego Police Department's Crime Lab, told The Sun exclusively: "I think Brian’s parents have exhibited very odd behavior. It appears they know where he is, or where he went at least.

"Their home is fair game for searching, as it is a potential crime scene, and the [alleged] suspect lives there.

"It does appear the parents were complicit in his disappearance, although we may never know.

"The cars are also evidence, as they may point to where Brian was last seen by his parents, and therefore give some indication as to where he may have gone.

"The cars may provide GPS tracking, location information, or physical evidence (signs of Brian himself) that would clarify the parents' involvement."

Gabby Petito update: Family posts emotional messages on social media, call on Laundrie to 'turn himself in' - ABC7 New York (abc7ny.com)
The family of Gabby Petito took to social media on Saturday with emotional messages and tributes, including calls for her fiancé Brian Laundrie to turn himself in.

Gabby Petito's father Joseph Petito posted a tribute to his daughter on Instagram stating, "she is already saving lives."

"So many stories being sent to us about relationships being left with proper planning for safety, and people are being found due to her influence. We have much more work to do, but it's a start," he said.

But the emotional tributes didn't stop there. Both Gabby Petito's stepmother, Tara Petito, and stepfather, Jim Schmidt, took to Twitter to pay tribute.

"It still seems surreal. Miss you Gabs," Jim Schmidt wrote.

Following. Apologies if this has already been posted: (eta: found the thread but am cross-posting anyway)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/09/30/bob-lowery-body-gabby-petito/

"News coverage of 22-year-old Petito, who went missing on a cross-country road trip and whose body was found on Sept. 19, renewed interest in other, unrelated missing person’s cases in the area.

Lowery, 46, from Houston, has been missing since he was last seen on a hiking trail in the same forest on Aug. 20. Police said he was carrying a large black Nike duffel bag with a blue sleeping bag and a gray tent."

The TikTok girl said something about Brian asking for a ride to Jackson, correct? Admittedly, the timeline is confusing to follow but what strange timing.

As time ticks by, more questions than answers in search for Brian Laundrie
It's now been one month since Brian Laundrie returned home to North Port without Gabby Petito. Questions are being raised about his sister and the last time she saw him.

[...]

The FBI was last at the Laundrie home on Thursday afternoon. The Laundrie family attorney says the visit was to collect personal items belonging to Brian that will assist the canines in their search for Brian.

FOX 13 reached out the FBI Saturday for an update on the search and are still waiting to hear back.

Brian Laundrie 'extremely likely' to get more charges

Additional criminal charges against Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie are “extremely likely” in the death of Gabby Petito — if he’s found alive, a Sunshine State prosecutor says.

“That’s coming,” said David Aronberg, the state attorney for Palm Beach County, adding that Laundrie’s decision to flee will also hurt his case if he’s ever caught and charged.

“At trial, his flight can come back to haunt him because the prosecutors can point to that,” Aronberg said during a recent interview with News Nation Now.

“In fact, it’s even in some jury instructions that says that if you flee that is consciousness of guilt and juries hate it when you flee,” he said.
