Virginia Hislop has spent a lifetime trying to increase access to education, and now, at 105 years old, she appears to have completed her own schooling.

On Sunday, Hislop celebrated Stanford University's conference of a master of art's degree in education — 83 years after having left campus just shy of the degree. Her son-in-law had contacted the institution and discovered a final thesis, her unfulfilled obligation, was no longer required.

Police were called when a melee broke out on a golf course near Vancouver. One party accused the other of deliberately trying to hit them with their shots.

The video shows one guy trying to do some kind of ninja kick and falling to the ground.

Some of them seem to have confused the rules of golf with rugby, or something.

The coroner later said the victim, 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew, had ignited a large firework on top of his head. Witnesses told investigators he was wearing a large top hat, and put the firework on top of the hat before lighting it. The device exploded, causing “massive head injuries.”

Neverland Ranch threatened by wildfire
The “Lake Fire” in Santa Barbara County has ravaged more than 13,000 acres in just a couple of days, and now it’s threatening an iconic piece of real estate.

Neverland Ranch, the 2,700 acre home of Michael Jackson from 1988 to 2005, was within one mile from the edge of the fire on Sunday, according to stringer service RMG News.
