I'm still trying to figure out what the point was in calling this guy as a witness. Can anyone clue me in?

I have several friends who have worked as strippers; one has a PhD and another works as a children's therapist, and I can imagine either -- alongside other women who work as strippers -- being offended by an offensive man uttering offensive remarks, if Britt did indeed say them. Working as a stripper, even in rural TN, does not imply bad character, and it's notable that although we have heard things attributed to her, we have heard nothing directly from her, yet. Maybe she's a bad apple, maybe not. I don't think her (former?) occupation is proof of anything, except that it may have put her in closer ontact with ZA and his crew.

I agree with others that ZA's attorney is laying the ground for an "It was someone else wot done it" defense.

Please don't think I'm being argumentative but, being from this area of Tennessee, the strippers there aren't like strippers in big cities. Big difference. You don't find strippers with PHDs in rural Tennessee. You find strippers that are hooked on drugs. Many are missing teeth. They're often quite rough, especially for their age. I don't intend to say they're all terrible or nasty. Just that, while you're correct about the nature of strippers in some areas, this area I grew up in is different. One of the strip clubs I can think of in that area is called the Booby Bungalow and is just off the interstate. It's ROUGH.

Not fair or accurate. Not sure what point you are trying to make. Holly's best friend who took the stand Saturday, was not blonde.

"Am I the only one that does not think the defense counsel is stupid or inept?" This was on the closed thread....but it is an interesting comment and frankly in answer to the poster...no you are not. Over the weekend I watched some of the pretrial hearings and I can't even believe this made it to trial...but one thing that really stands out is how this defense attorney has been shut down at every single turn by the judge and sort of steamrolled in court. I think we may well be surprised.

I don't believe she is stupid, however, so far on many cross examinations, she has read statements/testimony by not asking a question. Prosecution has repeatedly objected and Judge has repeatedly stated, she must ask a question. In my opinion, the Prosecution should be objecting way more than they are.

I think they are trying to show he has an alibi, because the defendant's mother supposedly has been telling people that Britt is the real killer.

But when they object, it makes the jury think they are worried about whatever the defense is asking, so it is not good to do too many objections either.
