I guess I should have added to the above post.... I don't think Zellner has shown anything yet because she hasn't had too. She did make comments that she thinks she already has enough, but wants to do the testing to fully exonerate SA (and hopefully pinpointing the "real perp") I was actually surprised by some of her comments and how confident she is, that's why I'm now at 99.9% opposed to 99% lol

I get the PR thing, and I can understand your thinking, but only to a point. With her history, I think it's pretty harsh to say that is the only reason she is doing it. She is putting her reputation on the line, and her track record on the line.... for SA? JMO but I don't buy that. After the show was released, it was nuts on social media back in January and for a few months following.... I think she just fed the masses, and the masses were on social media discussing the case. This story didn't really gain much steam on a national level.... I wonder if it had, would we have heard more interviews on tv from her? This story is really only playing out online... unless I'm online too much to notice it on the national media stations LOL

You have such a way with wording things, thank you =)

(Me, being the " rushed, spazz " that I am most of the time, am guilty of blurting things out & someone always ends up taking it personal.)

I think you make a great point here and we discussed this months ago as well. ( Remember when the article of WHY KZ does what she does first came out? Stating she will NEVER again represent a guilty client. )

I can't see her putting herself out there the way she is, RISKING her reputation, her LIVELIHOOD, for Steven Avery.
Running every test possible. Recruiting help from all over the globe.
It'll be interesting for sure, when it's all over.

I like to think she's doing it ( the PR thing), just to torment Krats. :) cause she despises him as much as I do. lol.

Ok, Limaes to drive the point home.

One Saturday morning while at work, I walked in on a same sex couple having sex in the women's bathroom. Both parties were not women. I said Eww, turned around and walked out. I was not creeped out~~~I WAS however surprised! Our company moved shortly thereafter. Another time, I was doing a tax return for a male individual and in his tax documents were pictures of other males (of the *advertiser censored* type). I said Eww, went and washed my hand....I was not creeped out...however, I WAS surprised....and all you guys thought tax work was boring...LOL

Should have been an accountant:thinking: Never a dull moment:hilarious:

She aimed a few of those tweets at him, didn't she? LOL Can't say I blame her with the misinformation he was putting out there at the time. JMO

I have MUCH love for you right now, and couldn't agree more with this post:loveyou:

"Thanks for the DNA" was my personal favorite! Bwahahahaha!

It seems like some feel that Zellner already has enough evidence to succeed. I'm not so sure about that. JMO

I really can't see her taking the case on unless she felt she had very good cause to do so. JMO.

BBM

Like the testimony of AC, where he is clearly " choked up " & RED in the face because he is "called out " on calling in the RAV4 plate?

On the recording, AC clearly says to dispatch " can you run license plate xyz? " Many take this as, he is reading the plate number right off of the vehicle.
Sure one can argue he got it off the missing persons report, however, why not just TESTIFY to that in court? Why get so choked up, Andy? He had no answer.

Or the testimony of Lenk, under oath saying he arrived on scene at 2:05 but in earlier testimony, ALSO under oath, said he signed in " around 6 or 7 "

I'm thankful this biased documentary with haunting music was made. I won't list all the reasons why as I still have a ton to catch up on.

Yea, trial testimony is where it's at.

Whatever " IT " is:thinking:

Trial testimony is where it's at, not a biased one-sided documentary with haunting music.

The trial is where the defense got to present their theories and the state presented their evidence. It's what the appeals court uses to determine error based on the briefs submitted by the appellate lawyer(s).

Tweets matter not. Speculation matters not.

The trial record, the law, the application of the law, the jury, the circuit court and supreme court judges -- those matter.

^^ That is where KZ and her team come in. The documentary was created to draw attention to the possible injustices inflicted on Brendan and Steven, and now KZ is working to disprove the validity of the evidence , investigators and witnesses in Steven's case. Time will tell.

Edited to add: considering Brendan's conviction has been overturned, looks like we are off to a good start. One for one.

Gonna toss in:

SHOW em a REPUTABLE LAB:D

Show em Qualified & SOBER techs

Show em ETHICAL, accurate techs who aren't in it for the money and KZ will prove innocence, IMO

OMG Dexter, I'm so sorry to hear about you having to go through that, in knowing Sierah and her mother and brother. I followed Sierah's case when it was first on here and still read there sometimes, absolutely heartbreaking and incomprehensible, there are no words really :(

Thanks:hug:

There really isn't any easy way to get through it. Especially knowing JW should have STAYED locked away after his 1990 offense.
No doubt in my mind he is being linked to multiple missing women.

I tell ya what though, she fought HARD! That scum was bruised & marked up pretty good.

Thanks again,
very sweet of you to stop & say something:winko:

Oh i know i have been a bereaved mother of two adult children. We are never the same again, i guess how can we be after the loss of a child or children. I can't imagine what Sierah's family and circle of friends are going through under such horrendous circumstances. It is just awful and my heart weeps for them all including Sierah. No one deserves to have their life taken that way, and JW will answer for his crimes here and hereafter.
You guys take care and there is much love going out to all involved,<3

oceanblueeyes ~ the DNA is already linked to SA. From what I understand, she is going to be running some tests that will hopefully tell us where that DNA originated from. One of the examples, if I understood it correctly was.... if the DNA under the hood is saliva, and then the buccal swab with SA's DNA on it has dirt (when it shouldn't), it would show that someone wiped something dirty with the swab, like a hood latch. It's an interesting approach for sure, since Buting/Strang have said they thought it was a transfer from a tech who didn't change gloves.

She also wants to test that "magic bullet", so we will see what comes of that too. There is no such thing as "sweat DNA", Zellner even mentions that in her motion. Again, if I read it correctly, she wants to do some ballistic testing, and would also like to see if there is a chance that it could be determined what kind of DNA or where it came from (brain, tissue, etc).

I disagree about the "luring", I just don't think he did. The *67, a business man, using his personal cell phone, is not unreasonable in his situation. We have never heard it from him, but Strang said it was common for him to use *67.

I think we will all be watching if he gets a re-trial. Zellner made it pretty clear today that she thinks what she already has could get him out, but that further testing will yet again leave SA fully exonerated of the murder (maybe with the real perp?) Time will tell.

Thank you. I meant if they tested other pieces of evidence and it is also connected to SA. What happens if that happens? Does Zellner have to turn that over in discovery if there is a retrial?

There may be no such thing as sweat DNA but its a bodily fluid isn't it which would have a person's DNA in it?

I agree it isn't reasonable for any businessman who is actually doing legitimate business to use the block feature on his/her phone. I respectfully disagree though about its importance. If he did such a thing to a woman who was already uncomfortable meeting with him it will be highly important.

IMO

Not the person you are responding to, but there was a spot on comment up thread, sorry I can't remember who posted it. It was basically, so what if SA blocked his #? Once TH answered the call, how the heck was he going to disguise his voice? She would know immediately who it was. So how does the call blocking show nefarious intent? And this was apparently a quirk of SA's, something he had done in the past quite innocently.

Perhaps after previous unjust persecution/prosecution, he developed slight paranoia. I couldn't blame him in the slightest.

I'm posting the list of all KZ's exoneration cases for those who haven't seen it. The list is much longer and broader than just Ryan Ferguson. Many were reversed due to DNA testing. She has represented individuals from all walks of life. Yet they were innocent of the crimes for which they were prosecuted. She has my utmost respect and awe. She demonstrates true integrity. I would never consider her a media w***e as some here are implying:

Kathleen Zellner's 17 Exonerations

"1. Ronnie Bullock

Bullock spent over ten years in prison for the kidnapping and rape of a 9-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl before DNA testing revealed that he was not the culprit.
2. Joseph Burrows

Burrows spent nearly five years on death row until Zellner persuaded the real killer to confess at the post-conviction hearing.
3-4. Billy Wardell and Donald Reynolds

Wardell and Reynolds spent over ten years in prison for robbery and sexual assault. They were exonerated in 1997, when Zellner convinced prosecutors to agree to DNA testing that cleared them as the perpetrators.
5-8. Omar Saunders, Marcellius Bradford, Larry Ollins & Calvin Ollins

Saunders, Bradford, and the two Ollins cousins were convicted of the kidnapping, rape, and murder of 23-year-old medical student Lori Roscetti. Bradford spent six years in prison as the result of a plea deal, but Saunders and the Ollins cousins spent nearly fifteen years in prison before DNA testing was conducted that cleared all four men of the crimes.
9. Kevin Fox

Fox was imprisoned for eight months for the murder of his daughter, Riley Fox. Zellner represented Fox until he was cleared by DNA evidence and won a $15.5 million verdict against the government (reduced to $8.1 million on appeal).
10-11. Harold Hill and Dan Young

Hill and Young were convicted of the 1990 rape and murder (by strangulation and setting the victim on fire) of Kathy Morgan. DNA testing performed in 2004 led to the release of both Hill and Young in 2005.
12. Alprentiss Nash

Nash spent over seventeen years in prison for the murder of Leon Stroud. In 2010, Zellner convinced the Illinois Court of Appeals to order DNA testing of the ski mask worn by the perpetrator. This testing led to Nash's exoneration and the apprehension of the real killer, who was serving time for an unrelated drug crime. A federal civil rights lawsuit against the City of Chicago is currently pending.
13. Cesar Munoz

Munoz was convicted of the 1997 murder of his girlfriend, Magdaliz Rosario. Zellner's firm represented Munoz and won his acquittal - after the fourth trial (the first trial resulted in a hung jury, and the second two resulted in convictions but were reversed on appeal) - in June 2013.
14. Lathierial Boyd

Boyd spent twenty-three years in prison for the murder of Michael Fleming and the attempted murder of Ricky Warner until his conviction was vacated in 2013 due to evidence of his innocence and prosecutors withholding exculpatory evidence. A $20 million civil rights lawsuit against the City of Chicago and various police officers is currently pending in federal court.
15. Ryan Ferguson

Ferguson was arrested in 2004 for the 2001 murder of Columbia Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt. His case generated national media coverage, and Ferguson gained support from many members of the public. He was released in November 2013 after Zellner and her firm convinced the only two witnesses against Ferguson, Charles Erickson and Jerry Trump, to admit that they had lied at trial. A $100 million civil rights lawsuit against Boone County, Missouri, the prosecutor, police officers, and others is currently pending in federal court.
16. James Edwards

Edwards was convicted of two murders as the result of a false confession. He was exonerated for the murder of Fred Reckling after Zellner filed a motion for DNA testing that cleared Edwards as the murderer. His other murder conviction, which came from the same confession shown by DNA testing to be false, is currently being challenged.
17. Mario casciaro

Casciaro was incarcerated for 22 months for felony murder by intimidation. The case was reversed on direct appeal and Casciaro was released from prison in September, 2015. "

I actually think it's kind of disgusting that some are implying she is in this only for the publicity.

IMO.. he didn't use *67 for the purpose of "setting her up" or anything like that..
IMO.. more people answer their phones to an unknown name as it's the only way to find out who it is, is to answer the call. IMO SA wanted Teresa to answer his call.. so he *67 her number .. maybe he thought if he just called NOT using *67, she wouldn't answer... and this was important to him that he talks to her.

I know I have *67 people.
I have called people and asked for the "highest up" and have told the secretary I was his wife.. LOL.. this works well, he answered my call right away!! The other call I made before I pretended to be the wife.... he just lets it go to the answering system.

Thankyou IDK for posting this up. That is very very impressive. You sure would want Ms. Zellner in your corner if you were wrongfully convicted of a heinous crime. I have the utmost respect for the work she does and her success in the name of Justice.

I've done this myself when trying to get a hold of someone on the phone. *67 so that they don't think you are crazy trying to call them all day long. OR *67 in case you think they won't answer your call. Lots of legitimate reasons to *67. It means nothing in this case. Absolutely nothing. JMO
