Almost anything's possible in this crazy case. The ransom note does say ''your daughter'' but this could easily be one of JB's parents pretending to be an intruder that didn't know her name.

I appreciate your thoughts UKGuy. I still think there is a slight possibility of an intruder, however slim it may be. Of course if that is true, it raises a lot of questions. If one of the parents was the killer, then perhaps they tried to stage an intruder scenario as best they could...

While Burke might be involved, it’s important to note that there’s no real smoking gun in this case. It’s just as possible he is completely innocent.

After years of reading about this case, I still can’t come to a definitive conclusion on whether Burke was involved or not. Did he murder his sister? Is he completely innocent? Or maybe somewhere in between (maybe not involved in the murder but helped his parents cover up)?
