    GUILTY TX - Christina Morris, 23, Plano, 30 August 2014 - #1 *Arrest*

Also, most of the men on the Great Expectations matching service are older, like 40+. I was a member for 2 years at that location and only went on 2 dates between 2009-2011--and I was a good-looking girl in my 20s at the time. I seriously doubt this was about jealousy due to where she worked.

Also, regarding the heroin posts...there is another girl named Christina who was found in her apartment due to an apparent suicide in Arlington last night. Apparently she had issues with heroin in the past. Perhaps the WFAA comments are people confusing her with Christina Morris.

    GUILTY TX - Christina Morris, 23, Plano, 30 August 2014 - #1 *Arrest*

The initials are SR, and the comment was made on the latest link Plano PD shared. I know the person that posted it--she is Christina's boss at Great Expectations in Fort Worth, and has been working there for a long time. In fact, I had a membership there that SR got me for free in 2008. I...

Just because it is allowed to prescribe in two states doesn't mean that all of the psychologists take the extra coursework and clinical supervision/residency requirements. Having prescriptive privileges would also mean that malpractice insurance would be VERY expensive, and not all...

I realize that anyone can edit a Wikipedia page, so that same information in more detail: http://www.sdcms.org/Portals/18/Assets/pdf/emoc/InsOuts5150.pdf

A 5150 is not a welfare call, it is a hold placed by a judge, LE, or mental health clinician. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5150_(involuntary_psychiatric_hold)

These are great points! States cannot effectively enact more restrictive laws based on mental health without increasing mental health funds and increasing beds. I also agree that this would not have changed the outcome for ER's victims. The fact that we are having these types of...

Here is an NY Times blog I just read I think you would enjoy and some of which validates your concern about such laws being enacted. http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2014/05/29/can-therapists-prevent-violence

Oh, I understand you now. I apologize for misunderstanding. Yes, I agree that teachers and LE often are giving this burden in addition to everything else they have to do in their jobs. School districts and LE would benefit greatly from increased employment of mental health providers in these...

I agree, that this could be an outcome, but not in high numbers. Admittedly, I have not seen any research on how such laws would affect access to mental health treatment. I would imagine that psychiatric hold authority given to mental health practitioners in some states also warranted concern...

Many prescribing providers are not licensed physicians (physician assistants and nurse practitioners, for example). Prescriptive authority can be given to PA's, ANP's, M's, DO's and others. Here is a link that describes this in my state of Colorado...

The difference is that teachers do not have legal authority to initiate a 5150 hold. Yes, a restraining order of this type could definitely turn into a slippery slope, but this could be mediated somewhat by requiring psychological/psychiatric evaluation before making the determination about a...

Mental illness can alter someone's state of mind just as intensely as medication complications can. The power of the chemistry in our brain and how the neuropathways we strengthen affect our behavior--astonishing and fascinating.

It is EXTREMELY rare for psychologists to have prescribing privileges, although there is a movement advocating for this in multiple states: Prescriptive authority for psychologists movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Primary physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and...

It is impossible to enforce medication adherence. Reporting psychiatric medication noncompliance to the police or relatives would be a major HIPAA violation and would most definitely end up in a malpractice lawsuit. We cannot enforce medication compliance without an inpatient/outpatient...
