CO - Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Thread

Sarah, You are a good mom. I know this, because you surrounded yourself with supportive loving family, you work hard, and your little girl had great experiences like cheerleading and a puppy to play with. It may sound simple, but so many don't have the love you gave your little girl. You said...

Just want to say THANK YOU to the mods. There have been some horrific posts and before I could even flag them, they were gone. I appreciate sincerely your efforts to protect the family. Justice for Jessica.

"There is predator at large in our community," said Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk. Maybe others didn't come out and say it, but he did. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/12/14396130-body-found-in-colorado-is-that-of-missing-girl-jessica-ridgeway-authorities-confirm?lite Mr...

We have a "walking school bus". I walk and pick up kids every morning, and the school organizes kids walking to school on the other side neighborhood. Is is fantastic. And yes, I agree. Kids don't walk to school without an adult. Period.

It's .5 a mile- 2,640 feet. We are from Colorado and now live in another active community- kids routinely walk 3 miles just for FUN. Walking 1/2 mile to school verses a longer drive or having to get up earlier to catch the bus- kid chooses to walk- I understand that. I think we can agree...

I've been thinking of this too- but she left her pillow pet on the sidewalk (or street, can't tell which). I think she could have been snatched just that quickly. And not everyone screams- it can happen so fast, she might have just been surprised. I think there are some better expert opinions on...

I think if you expand it you can see that it does make sense- because driving to the school is a much longer route. Sounds like the kids meet up at the park and cut through- a logical meeting place for kids in the surrounding streets. /jmho And YES- I agree- it stinks that J's Dad didn't...

Mom said they met at the park. Makes sense to me that Dad would drive J to park and drop him, but JR isn't there, Dad just drops off J, he walks the rest of the way to school. Jessica was taken somewhere between her house and the park.

It's not that far- the park cuts down the walk. My 6 year old and 8 year old walk to school, .4 miles, every day (With me. ALWAYS with me). We are a very active family (ski, hike, bike) and having lived in Westminster I can tell you that being active is encouraged and walking .5 miles sounds...

Jefferson County Schools were OPEN Monday. I'm in the PNW- my kids did not have Monday off, but it was a bank holiday. They are off tomorrow, but just a teacher in service.

Yes. This area is also used by people from Denver to Boulder and in between- not just Arvada/Westminster residents. The graffiti shack on the shack is a place photographers take those modern senior portraits and even engagement photos. I am again reminded of Polly Klaas's murder. We lived in...

Thank you. Yes, I was actually hoping there was a connection. The girls were so similar in their descriptions- and it gave me a light because the victim in Cody was released alive. It also sickens me to no end to think that there would be another monster who would do this- it somehow was easier...

Mr. Materasso was wearing a purple shirt- the color Mom wanted to paint the town with for Jessica. That made me weep. I really believe LE has taken this case as seriously and thoroughly as possible.

Thank you. Still finding myself doing this: :banghead: Does anyone have any ideas on how long it would be until they may make an identification public?

I got up at 5:30 PST to watch the press conference. I was hoping it wasn't her, but like many of you I was hoping there would be some answers at the very least. WHY call an early morning presser just to say....nothing? I just don't get it. It was done at a time where everyone could see it...
