Does that mean they were cleared by the police or in his eyes though? Am not being pedantic but the way it reads it could mean either. What about this letter that Bicks mentions above.
I thought that would be the case. They can't clear them when there's no sign of him being alive, no other suspects and no way to verify their stories that day. No evidence either way.
Were they actually cleared? How could they be when cops couldn't account for their movements that day and no witnesses to the walk? There's no evidence they were involved but that doesn't mean they weren't. When they dug up their garden they found "an area of interest" but no body.

Yes, agreed. Surely he'd have sussed straight away that it was because of that. Unless he didn't let on to her....as I say, it's a big co-incidence though.
The whole case is very odd. Wonder if the cops are still favouring the pub decking theory now, above his banking career or a personal motive. To me it seems such a glaring co-incidence trhat he's killed after sending his letter objecting to it. I don't like such co-incidences at all.
