Sorry to bother you but I am trying to bump my post above (please view it no sense in a repost). I an simply looking for somelne to analyze who I consider a good UP match on NAMUS and give a second viewpoint. Other than the date Phillip Eugene Andrews was last seen it all matches (limited info...
Do we have a little of rule-outs for Phillip Eugene Andrews? If not:
Please look at Namus UP4691 Here who was found 6/10th of a mile from the state line between Florida and Georgia. Map Smithown Road Georgia to Jefferson St, Marianna FL. It is a 39 min drive primarily on US 90.
Then view the...
This suggests to me he was declared deceased, but not necessarily deceased (although probably deceased).
Could we start with.... 1947-1955 UIDs? Narrow swath from UT to NY?
I saw like 20 different registrations and I was like... ok I'm not cut out for this tonight. He clearly served our country and we owe him his body back...tysm for any resource you can send my way... you seem really good with the records as well. I have a punch in my gut feeling that this man is...
@Laughing do you know a way to search his military records for any potential injuries that would leave a mark, or surgical scar? Did you see anywhere else he was familiar with militarily besides NY and UT? I only saw those two states.
I agree with @TinfoilYarmulke to start in Utah and spread...
Ok so to me this speaks clearly that Ellsworth Mielke is a likely UID. Hardly anyone lives to 103 years of age.
If he is a UID, what area would he have been found in?
If he is a UID, what decade would he have been discovered?
If he is a UID, what other information could help us connect him...
I am also a genealogical researcher as well and have found no evidence of his existence after his son's stillbirth certificate. I do appreciate your point of view and I will investigate New York. HOWEVER, I think it is very clear to me that he suffered an episode. He had quite the military...
Yes I imagine being a 1940's wife with a husband who has episodes of amnesia has a high chance of being dismissed when she goes to report him missing. ("wait a few weeks, he'll be back") sort of comment and kind of hand waving it off.
“On November 5, 1992, the skeletal remains of a man were found near Parksville on the Englishman River in British Colombia. The man had extensive dental restorations and may have been American. He had recently had surgery for ingrown toenails, on both feet, and had a healed fracture to the left...
This struck me as interesting today. He was carrying US currency but found in Canada in 1992. The cross-border issue alone could have prevented an identification all this time. Is there a chance he is an unidentified U.S. citizen that could be in NAMUS?

I will contact Grand County tomorrow so we can status change this UID as identified. I would prefer someone do it for me. Contact me if you are willing and I will provide any additional information you need. I’m confident in my identification as well as that Grand County has already made...
On this man's profile page you will see he has John Wayne as his background picture, and pictures of horses he own(ed) and such. Really struck me as kind of an echo of the "man wearing hat with gun" tattoo. I think member LadyN was on the right track when she thought of Clint Eastwood. Seems...
If you can't find the Facebook link off google, you can alternatively find the page and scroll ALLLLLLLL the way down to September 21, 2016. Hope this helps; I believe this is a closed case and some privacy was warranted. As Utah finishes setting up their new cold case database, we may find the...
