During the press conference, the Troopers stated that he killed himself very soon after they presented a warrant for DNA collection. He was living in Sitka at the time of the murder and had been tried (and acquitted) of asexually assaulting another teen earlier in the summer of 1996. He left...

The AK cold case department resolved this case today: State Troopers making a live announcement at 3:15pm AK time. No link at this time (not sure why), only photo which I cannot upload... DNA from Steve Branch from Austin, Arkansas matched suspect DNA found on the victim's body. He committed...

I don't buy it. No one is THIS stupid. IMO: there is still more going on here than meets the eye. He wouldn't have made it this far in life if he was this clueless.

I heard something about the Palmer-Wasilla highway noted... and I think someone posted a map (though it wouldn't show up on my screen). TIf this is the case, it is NOT near/in Willow...

I am still wondering about those post(s) by "Israel" on the KTVA site (I believe). It sounds, from what I have read here, that they think this was random... I guess I have a hard time believing this (or don't want to believe it...). I am still of the opinion that this guy was stalking her. There...

Hi Snowbunny I didn't hear anything about grandparents GOING to the lower 48 for vacation...instead, I thought I read some chat about how strange it was that they hadn't COME UP TO ALASKA during this whole ordeal...though perhaps you are referring to the other set of GPs? :)

Cant sleeP either... What if he was growing pot in the shed? Might explain the initial blow off by the state but subsequent interest by the Feds... Marijuana has come up twice now wrt IK: in that poorly scribbled document and in the comments section of one of the initial stories after his arrest...

All firearms must be unloaded and carried in a locked, hard-sided container where only the customer retains the key or combination. The hard-sided case must be secured in such a way that it does not allow for accidental or unauthorized opening. Multiple locks may be required on some cases to...

From two rather recent disturbing experiences in mat-su, I would say meth is thriving there... Two separate sellers on separate dates on CL ... (chimney and a really cheap car... Should have known better- lol). Both twitching and amped - so desperate to sell they were willing to reduce to 1/4th...

Anchorage is a pretty "small" city. This type of thing doesn't happen often. A person at-large that (violently) abducted someone from a coffee shack under duress IS A BIG THING FOR US!!! I cannot underline that more heavily... IMO, to say there is "no public threat" means to me that this person...

One thing that bothers me (and I believe i have mentioned this before...and this is not meant as a bash, just as a curious observation...) is that APD, relatively soon after the abduction, announced that there was "no public threat". I thought it was strange then (and assumed they had the guy in...

There is another Salvation Army work training Center, I believe...it is about 2-3 blocks behind where the coffee hut is... I drove by it when we brought our car in for alignment and made a mental note... It is on E. 48th Ave.

Yes, truck boxes and ladder racks... They are all over the place... Though I will note that his truck boxes appear to be a custom job...but still not too unusual...

Interesting idea...but doesn't it seem like they STILL would have shut it off? I guess if they were trying to track/catch the thief, perhaps they would have left it on...?
