I respectfully disagree.
In missing-person cases, law enforcement is trained to prioritize finding the victim first, and solving the crime second. But everything depends on the theory they adopt early.
If leaders believe it’s a planned kidnapping, resources go to DNA, phones, and suspect...

These weeds should have been sent to Othram Labs for DNA analysis. This type of forensic analysis is right up their alley, and it should have been done on day one. Othram - A Revolution in Cold Case Resolution
DNA can be collected from a few cells these days, so even if he breathed on the weeds, the possibility is there that his DNA transferred. In any case, it is ridiculous that the weeds were not even collected for a cursory examination.
This is really difficult for me to tell, but the implications are so insane if true...
Could the weeds he is holding in his hand be the same weeds left lying on the ground and not collected as evidence??
I was reading an off-site article about the sheriff shutting down the investigation and stating that only he and two of his senior people will make decisions on this case.
I think that same information has been posted here.
What is problematic if I am reading it correctly, is the two people...
One of the key issues in this case, as another poster pointed out is the fact that the sheriff demoted or transferred all the experienced investigators in his department to other jobs, such as patrol. I don't recall the reason but there was conflict. These investigators were replaced with newer...
Thanks for the great photos. What I find interesting about them is that it can be determined exactly where the offender stood on that welcome mat, based on the small B/W image. Would there be anything to find there? I have no idea, but to leave the mat and not even keep the crime scene tape up...
On March 6th, 2026, I will be going back to Starved Rock with my son, who is a retired Chicago detective. We are going to trace Weger's steps from the lodge to St. Louis Canyon and analyze the crime scene.
I do not think it is logistically possible for him to have committed this crime just...
His blood analysis sounds spot on. I posted much earlier that I believed that as NG was being removed from the house, the perp probably hit her in the mouth/nose area to stop her from calling out or screaming. Morgan's assessment is saying basically the same thing. What I did not see early on...
And you are what...the hall monitor? I posted direct commentary from the previous sheriff, and it reflects on the current sheriffs ability to lead this investigation.
