Pure speculation here: This tip is so random. They've been searching for months and then the PI suddenly gets a tip from someone he trusts? It makes me wonder if the tip is from a psychic and they're remaining anonymous because they know many people wouldn't take a psychic's information...

This is exactly what I did when I found a phone in the parking lot. I called the most recent number that looked like family and ended up talking to the girl's aunt. Never would I have thought to check vm, but that could just be me.

JMO, but if someone is smart enough to pull off SK's disappearance, they may be smart enough not to leave a vm at all. The fewer ties, the better.
