And I agree with you Otto, but if there's a connection (however tenuous), it should be at least be given a look. Even a simple comment like she made on the case could lead to a whole lot more. Then again, maybe it won't. I'm sure LE is doing their homework and will check it out just to be safe.

Anyone charged with first degree murder rarely makes bail in Canada anyway. Perhaps he believes it's futile. I'm not saying he's innocent, just saying LE perhaps should grill VH a little more. We don't need another David Milgaard or Donald Marshall situation. Make sure all the bases are covered.
