If they rule her human rights are violated, I believe Italy's laws would require the verdict to be quashed/ case reopened. I will have to look for the specific case law. I believe that this is what will happen, and Italy will find itself with a case of caunnia where the entirety of the evidence...

I think that the Italian Justice system has some serious issues. The length of time is only one issue illustrated in this case. The laws against calunnia have a chilling effect on journalists. I hope that they can make progress on these things.

I predict that all of these satellite trials -- against her, her family, and journalists et al -- will all quietly disappear. As they should.

AK is still convicted of calunnia -- this is the count that Hellmann upheld. She has an appeal currently still in front of the ECHR. I predict that this will also be overturned.
