Florence #amandaknox appeal: court breaks until 14:15. Unclear if sollecito defense will finish today or spill over.

Bongiorno: Sollecito is not a puppy dog. He may have brushed her hair, cleaned her ears, but he would not kill for love of #amandaknox.

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 1h
Bongiorno and judge exchange laughs over "unca nunca" the eskimo kiss. "I'm over 50," he said "I need an explainer."

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 1h
Bongiorno on witnesses found by local journos: "This trial had an Aladdin's Lamp. Every time cops needed a witness, one materialized."

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 1h
Bongiorno defending #amandaknox, while at the same time clearly separating Sollecito's position from that of Knox.

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 2h
Bongiorno reading amanda's statement: "If you believe this is a confession, where's Raffaele? He is never, never, never mentioned."

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 2h
Bongiorno just read wiretapped comms of Perugia cops Napoleoni and Zugarini insulting Sollecito's family.

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 3h
Bongiorno: "Amanda amanda amanda amanda amanda . . . And raffaele? Basta with sollecito always being considered Knox's other half."

Andrea Vogt ‏@andreavogt 3h
Bongiorno: Perugia declared "case closed" 4 days after Kercher murder, w/no murder weapon and a motive intended to calm public fear.

I think I've heard enough. Knox, a "strong woman", was "perceived" as the stronger personality of the two (Sollecito) so she was automatically blamed. Once sights were set on her, there was no changing direction for the prosecutor. The lawyer came out swinging with her "tunnel vision" argument, and I suspect that it will deteriorate from here.

Welcome back Otto ;)

Bongiorno does so much better than either of AKs lawyers. It has always been said he had the best lawyer and I agree for sure. Her closing is a lot better!

If they are acquitted, it will be because of Bongiorno IMO.

Ok, I don't get the first part, but that's probably because of translation.......or something.

Could be but do we even know if that picture was taken at the cottage or was it taken at a friends house? It would still leave me questioning why she would borrow the lamp being as she had an overhead light and a lamp of her own.

Hi Amber
That photo of Meredith was taken at a club. I was not referring to that particular photo as taken at the cottage. I just posted it as a reference of what she was wearing on Halloween.

I think she may have taken other photos at the cottage before heading out for the night. The photos may have been on her phone and may have never been published for the public.

My son and daughter, both in the same age bracket as Meredith and in college, take pics of themselves all the time with their phones particularly for a special event where they are dressed up. The same goes for their friends. It is a common thing to do.

My kids are also notorious for not putting things back where they belong and leaving items at the spot where they used them. At any rate, I found the theory interesting and plausible.

I don't get the part with the "they started with a party" and then fit in Amanda (and Raffaele)....why would they find Meredith's body, and next thing immediately think, oh yeah, there was some kinda party going on in here.....

A small wound would not necessarily have sprayed blood everywhere, simply binding it with a cloth would minimize blood loss. In any case, the only evidence would be his say so if no blood was found. Maybe he didn't cut himself at all, or the wound was minor.

Also, not all the deposited blood was/would have been tested, so in most cases they would have blood but not necessarily DNA confirmation of who it belonged to. They would not have been looking for someone else's blood, and I expect they assumed any blood there was MKs.

I think you guys have an unrealistic expectation of how blood is spread around on a crime scene. Mostly it is going to be around the victim, or where the victim had been after being wounded. The victim, after all, is the one losing blood, not the perp. The perp is probably going to wipe their hands after the act, so not much transfer is likely through that route unless they flee in a hurry. Most of what there is would be tracked by their feet/shoes, as that is more difficult to clean since they have to walk.

His say-so? but I thought he never said so, and they have a picture of him with a large gash on one finger which looks like a cut which healed recently?

I am certain that cut is from the murder.

I understand what you are saying about it wouldn't have been a lot of blood, he could have wrapped his finger in something, yes, I agree with all of that.....but then how did he manage to not only close, but lock 2 doors, leaving no evidence of any blood around those doorknobs/doors? Because I would think he would have used whatever hand was not cut, thus he would have to control the keys, lock the doors, everything with one hand, in the meantime not getting a drop of anything anywhere on the door. I don't know, it just, to me, it seems pretty much like someone cleaned up something.

Yes, you are right about that most of the blood would be around the victim and mostly only the shoes are going to track blood, I see what you are saying.

Yes I'm actually very close in age to MK so I can see her taking pics of herself on her phone as well. Thanks for clearing that up.

I believe RGs blood was found in his bathroom, it could be true that his blood can't be dated there (like said of AK) but IMO it's proof he was actively bleeding that night. I could be wrong it's been awhile since I've looked at the evidence collected from his apartment bathroom.

ETA yes I just looked back over his blood was found on a towel, in the drain basin in his bathroom, and on the floor. Seems he was bleeding quite a bit IMO.

so no one remembers where we discussed the "sack of ****" comment?

the review by mark mentions several of his errors: http://www.amazon.com/Death-Italy-D...?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0

amanda translated part of the kercher's attorneys closing arguments... it's ridiculous nonsense. one of the arguments is something like:

"even if the dna on the knife is not MK's, it is the dna of someone who's throat was cut with the knife"

what??!!

more @ http://www.amandaknox.com/2014/01/08/kercher-knox-closing-arguments/

"sack of ****"....that was when Raffaele changed his story during interrogations, do you mean where on the forum where we discussed it?

Yes, I admit that makes little sense.....however, I DO think many things gets "lost in translation." I have seen this for myself, even when everything is in English. For example, the last trial I watched there was no live feed, everything was coming through tweets. Naturally, many things were not understoody fully, or even misunderstood, because the tweets cannot fully represent what is being said and the context of it. I would often times be confused by the tweets coming out, and then sometimes there would be some video (very rarely) to back up, so then I could go back and watch the video, and the defendant's whole testimony was live-streamed, thank goodness.

Now, I know that was not regarding a tweet, that was a tranlation, but I do think that given it's being translated into a different languages, there are going to be some things "lost in translation." Certain phrases and things which we don't get. Also the context.
