In a homeschool setting, 6 hours is usually not needed to get the "lesson plan" done for the day. As it is a much more intimate setting than a classroom, the teaching/homework can get done much, much faster.

They were called to the house 3 times and there were never any arrests made? I would be interested to know what exactly was said when they were called out to the home. If they were there 3 times and never did anything, I believe they are partially responsible for her death.

At 12 years old, one is well old enough to know that beating someone with a bat is not OK. This boy IS a violent child and should be treated as such. And yeah, maybe he should be afraid of the police; after all, he did murder someone. Sheesh.
I have a dachshund and I can't imagine her ever hurting a child. However, I would never leave her alone with a small child. There is just too much that can happen. Any responsible pet owner knows this.
