I've been waiting patiently for new developments too, but am now thinking that this may be it for a while. Not to diminish anyone's opinions by any means, but IMO, the theories about John Beck feigning his death and running away, starting anew seem overly complicated and far-fetched. Those...

To add color to some of the recent posts, the Becks technically lost their home and other assets in August 2015 based on the bankruptcy court's order to transfer property to the appointed liquidating receiver. The family was allowed to remain in their home until either a decision was entered...

You mean with the bankruptcy documentation? If he did not submit his Chapter 7 documentation by January 9-ish, the 341 hearing on February 9 would not have been scheduled.

Yep! You're right - the debtor is under oath during the 341(a) hearing, I should have mentioned that. But since the hearing is by nature more validation and less discovery, as shown in those Chapter 7 script links, everything discussed under oath would have been to confirm the bankruptcy...

Sorry, another thought... I'll also add that I still believe it would be extremely difficult for John Beck to have stashed money away so he could start a new life. This is based on the legal case timeline: 2006 - 2009 FTC investigates John Beck's real estate informercial business as part of...

Great discussion! My two cents: first, remember that John Beck disappeared on the morning of 2/9 just before the meeting and missed the rescheduled 3/8 meeting because he hasn't been seen since. One critical clarification about the situation - though the meetings were indeed important they...

Unfortunately, the creditors won't go after John Beck; they'll go after his assets. Losing Chapter 7 status would put the family's estate (including their home, future income, retirement disbursements, etc.) fully up for grabs again and it is very likely that they will lose everything. :(

Sorry for not responding sooner, Lilibet (life has been getting in the way), but thank you for sharing your thoughts about rewards. I was wondering if they might lead to something, or if it results in nothing or worse, false reports... it seems very tricky. You are also spot on about getting the...

This could be bad news for the Beck family: http://alamedasun.com/news/missing-alamedan-faces-bankruptcy-dismissal :notgood: And nice work, cujenn81 reporting the sighting! Hopefully, somehow it is him and the search will be over! :please:

There's a new video update on Facebook today. Whew, I was losing my mind searching for the video I thought I had seen earlier in the week! It looks like the family believes Mr. Beck is still out there somewhere and is offering a reward for information to those who have seen him. What do you...

Just stopping in for a moment again... I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but it looked like someone Tweeted earlier under the hashtag #FindJohnBeck (another video) but it was gone when I went back later to look at it. Maybe this means there's some news coming soon. I agree that the silence...

Happy Monday, Websleuths! Just popping in to share the link below. The body found in the Contra Costa County canals has been identified as Bay Point local Fernando Sierraacevedo (age 41)...

That's a really good question about the life insurance! From what I understand, the state of California protects unmatured life insurance but Mr. Beck or his bankruptcy attorney would have had to file for the exemption from his estate with the Chapter 7 trustee. It is not clear if that ever...

Oops, I just noticed that someone already posted about the 25 year old in HMB. Sorry about that, I'm still getting used to the posting system here and kept getting logged out while typing up my previous reply! About LE, I wholeheartedly agree that it's frustrating how they don't release basic...

Hmm, I can't find anything about the identification of the body, either. The closest thing I could find was a story about the body of a 25 year old man found in Half Moon Bay? And thank you Lilibet for the links you posted earlier about the Bay Point canals. Great finds! I was wondering...
