It's been a LONG time since I've been back to this forum. I'm almost finished with Patty's book and I recall all the discussions we used to have here regarding Jacob's case.
@ELOCsoul I've thought of you often while reading the book, because I recall your research from the years here on WS well...
Wow, Renner sounds very very confident. I guess I trust that he knows what he is talking about. Those poor ladies in California must be absolutely inundated with cases from around the world. Hopefully they can teach others their technique so a bunch of cases can be worked.
It sounds like there is a serious issue with egos in the FBI and sherriff offices. If that snippet is true, how in the heck could Garber have kept that a secret all these years? I thought he was a 'good guy'. ????
A family endured agony for 27 years and someone had the answer but didn't want...
Wow what a gong show yesterday with the sheriff and Garber and everyone pointing fingers!
I'm interested in seeing any additional evidence photos that were released. If someone finds them online, please post a link. I noticed several in the power point that I hadn't seen before.
The Vanished podcast just did an episode on Mikelle's case. Most of the content is Kimber talking (Mikelle's sister) which makes it even more interesting.
I agree with her that Dee Blalock is the most likely suspect. Just so frustrating that he won't be forthcoming with any information.
I thought the Breaking Homicide show did a great job with this case. Lots of detail and thorough investigation. It sounds like they are on the right path and have momentum. Maybe this year we'll see an arrest.
Thank you for reopening an Amy thread! I'm so glad we can finally discuss her case here.
I don't think she went overboard. Other people would have heard something, she would have been screaming, and they did search the water a couple of hours later. I think she went to go have a smoke, ran...
I just noticed this in the Wikia write up of the case. The letter writer was finally identified and had nothing to do with the case.

I'm glad her case is getting renewed attention. Unfortunately I think the dollar bill is a total hoax. If a person really was Mikelle and alive after all of these years, surely she would try another method of getting someone's attention and getting help. If you logically think about someone...
I wonder if Canada and the USA will link their DNA databases. It's plausible that missing people from one country could have remains found in the other.
I'm surprised this case hasn't been solved. It was obviously a local that knew these back roads and we have a very clear recording of his voice. I hope her family can get justice.
