GUILTY Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 *Arrest* #18

Cardboard is free to dispose of at the Leongatha tip, as are other recyclables. Kitchenware is specifically excluded. Could she have bundled the items up with free recyclables to evade tip fees...

VERDICT WATCH Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #16 *Arrest*

Something I can't get past... I believe it has been firmly established that death caps can't sneak into commercial supply chains. No other cases of death cap poisoning were recorded in Victoria in 2023 (that I'm aware of). If they were accidentally sold through a retail store, (the mythical...

VERDICT WATCH Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #16 *Arrest*

This is a really solid post. It fits with not disposing of the dehydrator until after the hospital staff spoke to her about death cap poisoning.

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #15 *Arrest*

She may lie about having cancer, destroy evidence, and obstruct police and public health investigations, but she's of good character.

I agree. IMO she's not portraying a woman crushed by the knowledge that her innocent mistake cost the lives of three people she loved dearly. She has prioritized self-preservation above all else. No remorse.

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #15 *Arrest*

The disordered thought and decision-making process that leads to someone actually poisoning people defies logic. No reasonable motive can be identified because reason wasn't a guest at the table. IMO the only motive was to achieve the outcome. The goal was to hurt and punish for whatever...

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #14 *Arrest*

I don't see how this supports her innocence. The prosecution's version is she falsely claimed to have scraped the mushrooms off for the children. The remains in the bin support that lie. If she disposed of them elsewhere, the question would have been "So where is the pastry and duxelle you removed?"

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #14 *Arrest*

Who among us hasn't mistakenly taken evidence to the tip, and mistakenly repeatedly factory reset a phone, and mistakenly repeatedly lied about having cancer, and mistakenly picked, dehydrated, powderised and cooked toxic mushrooms. Why, this could have happened to any of us. But for the grace...

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #14 *Arrest*

It is interesting that there's no indication that she owned a dehydrator before. Does death cap season coincide with SP's previous illness?

If she had poisoned Simon before, her experience was that she got away with it. Clearly she's the smartest person in the room and no one can touch her. And then she walked into the ER and they already knew it happened at her lunch and what she used, and she panicked because this isn't how it...

A close-to-home example: Greg Domaszewicz, acquitted of the 1997 murder of Jaidyn Leskie in Moe (neighboring town of Morwell).

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #13 *Arrest*

I've only known one Australian household that routinely used paper plates instead of owning a set of china. They were 20-somethings living out of home for the first time, and... shall we say... housekeeping-challenged. I can think of many households where there were an array of mismatched...

Garbage disposals are very rare in Australian houses. I don't believe I've ever seen one. Household waste would go out in the council collection bin, the "wheelie bin". They are reasonably resistant to most wildlife if they are not overfilled.

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #12 *Arrest*

It feels like she was on the cusp of the perfect murder. If she just, from day 1, announced "OMG I FED THEM FORAGED MUSHROOMS! YOU DON'T SUPPOSE I MISIDENTIFIED THEM??", then the cops would have had the darndest time proving she intended harm. She could have handed over the contaminated...

Australia - 3 dead after eating wild mushrooms, Leongatha, Victoria, Aug 2023 #10 *Arrest*

Fwiw I think the meaning of the message has been mangled in the media. I suspect, as a single parent, she would be entitled to receive child support and FTB, but she hadn't applied because she believed they were filing their taxes as a married couple. I feel like the actual text of the message...
