The police know in this case.....they are just looking for a "grass" to provide them with the information so it can be presented to a court because police intel or suspicion on its own is not sufficient. but make no mistake they know exactly what has happened here

i believe that Thomas Niven (the victim) may well have been a traveller - not entirely sure about this though
