there is actually a legitimate doubt that the girl in that story was actually "missing" at all - more likely that a cold case detective "solved" something which had been already dealt with 30 years ago but not officially marked as solved

i believe that at least one person pictured is a female - at 2:20 in the video as they pour fuel from the can - i see what looks like a pony-tail or long hair flopping forward from the head. i also thought the way that the rear passenger exited the vehicle initially had a feminine kind of way...

Hard to believe but sometimes a prospective killer (mercy or otherwise) just does not like the idea of a bloody scene - so they opt for what they think will be a straightforward method - strangulation it's only when they realize that strangulation is nothing like in the movies that they come to...

the obvious starting point would really be to look back at any similar offences within that area in the run-up to this one this clearly seems to be a sexually motivated offence - this is NOT an entry level type crime therefore the perp will almost certainly have done something similar...

The police know in this case.....they are just looking for a "grass" to provide them with the information so it can be presented to a court because police intel or suspicion on its own is not sufficient. but make no mistake they know exactly what has happened here
