I think both are true. Non-expert criminal and local police way over their heads and an FBI that doesn’t seem to be bringing its A game. I do think there is a real risk that this case is never solved. Shocking to me because you have an amateur criminal (IMHO) on video/film.

Pima County police seem totally useless and FBI seems to have really slipped under Kash. How in the world did they just put those pics and video out without someone to provide guidance to the public?!?! It’s been 24 hours with that video/photo proof out there and the public has to rely on...

This is def not a professional. The video with the flowers is so amateurish that it’s almost laughable. A professional would have brought tape, not hunted around for flowers on site. The bending over may be awkward because of the backpack, especially if it’s heavy.

I’m getting young, amateur vibes from this. Like someone pretending to be a hit man. Wondering if this is just some psycho doing this to see what it’s like.

I never had anything but doubts. My only questions are whether this is a JBR situation (fake ransom to cover murder) or some unrelated opportunistic looking for money. The delayed timing makes me think it’s the latter.

The Pima police chief was so loose with words at that first presser that I don’t entirely take everything he said there literally, including his statement about NG being at church. That being said, I find it very curious that he didn’t include the phone call in the latest timeline.

I would never pay the ransom without proof of life. Esp. In a case this high-profile. We already found one scammer. And, without proof of life, I don’t have alot of confidence that an 84 year old who lost blood and hasn’t had her meds in a week is alive.

I will be absolutely shocked if any ransom note is legit. It’s just other scammers/losers and it’s taking time and attention away.

Not OP but I don’t believe it’s a kidnapping either. I believe it’s a murder and hidden body. That happens much more often than kidnapping an aduly and holding them for ransom. I’m basing this on odds and the victim’s profile. I’m surprised talking heads are even discussing the ransom notes...

People let security stuff lapse all the time. Plenty of fancy homes have security signs in the yard and the mechanics installed in their home with no active service. I grew up in one of those homes. We left our back door unlocked.
